Multiple accounts from one household question Well, my wife has been dabbling around at a couple of smaller European rooms for while now, mainly because she wanted to understand more when I talk to her about poker, since I have been playing more and more (and she has gotten scarily good!! ). Now she wants to open an account at Full Tilt. I have been in touch with FT service, and they gave me the dos and donts for this situation. We only have one computer at home, and I was just wondering if anyone here has multiple family members who play over the same PC, and if there is anything I need to know that FT may not have mentioned. I am a little worried after reading some posts of people who have had accounts frozen while they claim to have done nothing wrong. We both have separate bank accounts and can - obviously - provide proof of ID etc. She really wants to play at FT, and we wont play at the same time. I do have a PC in my studio and play a lot there, but I play pretty much only MTTs on tilt and she will only play SnGs so I dont think it can be a problem if we are both on at the same time. But that will not happen often. One thing we will certainly not do is anything that can be defined as suspicious, pretty much cannot happen as we will never be logged on at the same time, and in the event this MAY happen (although I doubt it), we wont ever be involved in any games together (she cant afford that anyway, although she claims its the other way around......lol). She wants to sign up through a RB site, and they said she has to delete the software (they were adamant that the software is deleted, and re-installed through their link) and clear cookies, so since I have all my info on my PC, what would that mean for me, cause I dont want to lose any important info. I know where all my player notes are, so I can back them up, but am not sure if there is any other important backup I need to do. Anyone who has done this, your tips would be greatly appreciated. Basically I am looking for anyone here who has their significant other playing over the same PC so you can tell me what the best way to go about the above mentioned is.

The playing on the same computer is not a problem, even if you had 2 computers, you just cannot play any cash games together or any mtts with under like 45 people or something like that.(they block that option usually automatically) The rakeback part I am not as familiar with, I had my FT account for a couple years before requesting rakeback and I did not delete my software and was able to get it through RBP. I don't think uninstalling it would affect your account though. My husband had his porn machine wiped out and I downloaded FT onto it when I had to play on it one night and had no issues.

Joe and I have never had an issue with FT or PS and we have both had accounts and played in the same household for years. Also years ago my sister created her accounts here and has played here as well but not often. No issues there either. The games you are not allowed to play together - ring games and small sng's - it will not even allow you to both register anyway. My sister has RB on her account and we didn't clear cookies or anything. It's a shame she is the only one with RB cause she rarely plays and I doubt if she has ever earned a dollar lol.

Same here, the wife and I both have accounts. She plays on her laptop, I play on different computers throughout the house depending on where I'm at and what I'm doing. I emailed FT and Stars before she signed up and got the go-ahead from both, with the above mentioned restrictions.

I'm in a similar situation and have had both accounts frozen before, because you aren't allowed to deposit money on two different accounts using the same IP adress. I don't know if they still freeze your accounts for doing so since this was last year. Just follow whatever rules they tell you to avoid losing your account and your money.

if u have only one computer, u wont be able to play at the same time anyway... but one thing will lead to another and soon she will be a poker addict on her new laptop... then u can not play ring at the same table from the same IP address. and u may be limited as to what tourneys u may enter based on number of entries. then FTP will badger you to send copies of licenses, electric bills, etc to prove your identities... gl

If the rakeback provider is adamant about that just use a different one. There is no need to remove all your cookies and remove the software, they should have a code or something. RBP is the provider Full Tilt sends people to, and im pretty sure they are all the same 27%. But you really won't lose much removing the software and clearing your cookies. You'll have to relogin to sites you have auto login on and a lot of times re-setup personalized things on different sites. Did have a friend have a problem with online banking after clearing her cookies, but she wasn't very computer literate. If you save your notes, have your hand histories backed up should really have no problem uninstalling the software. Other than fixing all your customized settings.

comments in bold above. And I am with RTR and real happy with them, but maybe my wife can just go with RBP. I think the software deleting and re installing is silly. The cookie clearing is standard, so the RB gets tracked correctly. |
