| Multi Tabling and game sizing I have a Hanns G. 28" since a few days. I have the res at 1200x1980 but it is all new to me and I still am not sizing the tables right. If I have 6 - 3 on top 3 on bottom - now this is at pokerstars so far, I still find them quite small to read HEM stats and fit it all on the table. I saw a vid where a guy had 9 on the screen, and I think that would be so ultra small, maybe I am still not getting something here. My eyes kinda suck, so it may just be that. I dont need glasses for anything but reading and wearing them for any length of time always makes my eyes suck for 30 minutes or so afterwards, close vision is always swimmy after I take them off (anyone know what I mean here?). But glasses may be inevitable, still I dont REALLY need them and dont want to sit for hours in front of a monitor with them if not totally necessary. Still, maybe it is some simple thing multi tablers do that I am just not getting. With 6 tables - 3 x3 - my main problem is the width. Is there a setting on sites where I can adjust the horizontal to vertical? I alway seem to have overlapping when they are still at a comfortable size. I would optimally love to have 9 showing at once. I just cant seem to get this homogeneous tiling that I see in poker vids and so on. |

| Wow, that sucks about the eyes/vision deal. I don't think you can adjust width/height of tables on the sites (actually I'm pretty sure you can't.... I wish you could as some of the sites have different table-sizing & makes it awkward to run them at the same time as other sites... esp. 888Poker).. but can't you just adjust the resolution of your monitor to display the tables differently? I used to use a couple of ancient-old-style monitors running off of a laptop & because the laptop was 'widescreen' display & the monitors weren't, I had to play around with the diff. resolution settings on the monitors until I found the one that had the tables looking the way I preferred them (which was never 'perfect' but did come close). I've since purchased a 23" flatscreen, widescreen LED Acer & it easily fits 9 tables nicely & can actually get 12 on there that are still visible/playable for me with only a very, very slight width overlap on the one side (less than 1/4in.). I am used to playing with small tables though (6-tabling on a 17" laptop hasn't been a problem). Now I can max. out at 18tables, 12 on extra monitor & 6 on 17" widescreen laptop (although 11 is more comfortable for the eyes 2 & 9). I've always had perfect vision 20/20 (& actually better than 20/20 if that's poss.?.. that's what I was told anyways), the only one in my family who never needed glasses.... even as an older fart now. Just recently (past 6mos.?) I've noticed a change in my eyesight.... I now have a bit of difficulty reading small print up close (labels on stuff) & am thinking this might/could be as a direct result of being in front of the computer screen for umpteen hrs. per day, nearly every single day of the week (ok..who's kidding who here... 'every' f'n day without fail, lol). I'm wondering if there's a special type of perscription glasses that you could get, specifically suited for for viewing the monitor(s) while playing poker? (I know they have 'sunglass-type' glasses for viewing monitors over an extended period of time, but I'm referring to specific prescription glasses for someone like yourself). Sucks to have the eyes feel out of whack for a period of time after you finish playing & have been noticing something like that myself these days . I read somewhere that it's good to look away from monitor(s) every few mins. & focus on a point on the wall a distance away (what!!?!.. & potentially miss out on some action on one of the tables?!?!?... I've been trying this lately.... damn it, I thought that was AA.. not A4..crap!). Surely there are many others who share similiar situation to yourself? (errr.... or maybe not, considering avg. age of most online poker players is kinda on the young side). My neighbour (across street) - an older/retired guy (early 60's) is an avid online Omaha cash game player (stars & Ftp), 'wears glasses', occassionally plays on his 50" tv screen. Resolution sucks though, pretty blurry. Maybe by the year 2015 they'll have a feature where you can just mouse over the player to have the stats. (VP$IP,steal%, etc.) given to you verbally/audio (.... "JoeShowdown.... steal % 76%, calls resteals 100%... this guy cannot fold"). |
