Moving to full tilt?

Well after busting out three times on AP and UB (coz of blackjack) ive decided enough is enough. I asked them to block me from playuing blackjack and they said they cant so im seriously thinking of moving to Full tilt poker but, i have some stuff to ask about: 1- Is the competition tough like i heard or are there many donks? 2- Is the bonus easy to clear? ie, how many hands would i have to play at $100 NL to get the full $600 bonus? Now a combination of the two.. is the skill difference between AP and FTP big enough to make me stay at AP? AP is really really soft.. espoecially with the new JP tables... its a joke how people play there. I averaged around $200 a day on the 0.5/1 tables for over a month.. (but lost it all to blackjack so no use). Anyways i need some advice thanks!

Full Tilt in my opinion is the best site. But there are a couple things i dont like about it. I think that full tilt gives alot of flushes and straights on rivers, and gives alot of bad beats. And pretty much every flop has a pair(ex. 2 7 7, Q 5 Q, 7 8 7). But other than those things, its a pretty good site. Try it out and see what you think about it.

I dont believe in the whole 'that site gives lots of flushes/straights'.. i think if you play enough hands the odds will hold. Im talking MANY hands ie 20k+ at least. What about the competition which is my main concern. The only way to make money in poker is by keeping variance low and making use of other people's weaknesses.. ie, getting lucky, etc is not a way to win money in the long run in my opinion. Are there many people who buy in for 1/4 of the max buy in and keep going all in as soon as thye hit the top pair? im talking about things like that.. are there many fish/soft opponents? Or are they mostly regular players?

I don't want to come off rude, but I feel like I have seen you reply to a thread with this multiple times in the past week. FTP or any other big names are not set-up in anyway. It all comes down to odds (a computer calculating odds) and that is it. It might seem like this to you, but it is probably because you don't notice how often blank blank blank flops and you are not in the hand.

I just joined FTP last night, played for about one 2hr session and then later on played for about 3hrs. I only played $2.25 9PPL or 18PPL, about 8 games. I think I got two flushes and one straight (4 cards on board). And I flopped a boat one time. Other than that, it was basically a grind and watched how bad these players were.

I don't mean to rant, but people go on cold streaks, catch coolers... for months! Pro's have losing sessions all year sometime. This is poker. Again I don't mean to take this out on you, I guess I am at work and stressed lol.

I agree pez.. but the thing i love about online poker is that you can keep the variance so low that its negligble. For example, I play around 2-3k hands a day (on a break now coz of the blackjack bust) and usually things even out. I get lucky at times and i get unlucky at times and overall im usually up because ive learnt to keep my 'conventional' hands pots small (ie AK) and not get too stuck on them unless i hit two pairs, str8 etc etc.. but i try to make the 'big/trick' hands ie, sets, pocket aces etc big and that way my lucky hands get me more money than my unlucky hands lose me and with the ammount of donkeys online.. making money is not a problem at all in my opinion. Ive never went down more than 200-300BB for a month of constant, 2-3k hands a day, playing 4 tables a time. Just dont get addicted to your AK etc hands and play passively on 10 player tables and you'll be surprised by how many less bad beats you'll get. Before even going into the details, playing only premium hands will reduce your odds of being bad beat.. ie if you keep playing 9 10 suited and flop two pairs only to get rivered by a bigger two pair (an ace falling for someone with A10) then dont complain coz after all, you did go in with the worst hand and you hit the flop hard but got drawn out coz of the underlying weakness of your hand. HOWEVER, you couldve stuck to playing premium hands and reduced your odds of being outdrawn.

If online poker or full tilt isnt rigged, then how come you never hear about bad beats like that in live tournys? Ive asked a pro on full tilt before if he thought it was rigged and he also agreed. There software is just terrible, and they just need to fix it and maybe less people will think its rigged.

Are you serious? Watch the Main Event that Gold won, Hachem tells a story of a guy shoving after flopping quads and getting runner runnered by a straight flush. It definitely happens, there are just less hands being played in live tournaments than online, where a LOT more hands get played over a period of time.

Yeah i know i heard about that, but still. Online poker has so many terrible beats like that, its unreal. If i counted how many times ive gotten TERRIBLE beats in online poker it would be over 100 or 200. And live, probably about 50 or less. Maybe its just full tilt thats like that, i dont know. But if a pro thinks its rigged, then im going too have to beileve it too.

I am an undergraduate computer scientist and i can tell you theres nothing to 'improve'. The cards are either random or not. period. so what if u asked a pro? he plays nowhere as near hands online as he does in a live poker room. This is pathetic!

Whatever you say guy. Im still going to think online poker is rigged, period. Too many crazy terrible beats for me not too think its not.

I hate replying to these "poker is rigged" posts but I want to reply for this one for some reason. I am posting two screenshots. One is for FTP. The other is for Foxwoods Casino. Look at the numbers and do the math. This is why it seems you get more bad beats online than live. In reality if you were to do a ratio comparison the amount of bad beats would be the same. More players and tables online = more bad beats. It is not rigged.

Now as for which is the better site, AP or FTP. Those two are my main sites to play at. I like AP's features better than FTP. But for play FTP is the minnow pond. I can't believe how bad the play is at the lower levels. I posted before about taking $4 and played the $10 tables. In 3 hours I was up to $70. For moneymaking play FTP is da bomb!

what about the 0.5/1 tables? are there many weak players there? And can u tell me about how fast the bonus can be cleared multi tabling (3) on 0.5/1 tables? ie how many hands..

Bubba covers what I was going to say. Vivai, there are many weak players at almost all levels. So, yes to your question. I am not sure about clearing the bonus though. Sorry.

pokerstars and bodog has the best tournaments... the best play is at bodog.

Thanks for your advice, I will be making the $600 deposit at FTP as soon as I feel ready to play poker again. Need to set my goals and have the right mind set first. BTW i really hate the 'poker websites are rigged' crap.. really frustrating.. ive taken bad beats A LOT but i never think its 'rigged'. sometimes the card fall exactly how we dont want them to.. thats poker and thats why its gambling, theres no hand that will win 100% of the time except a royal flush which i have yet to get.

Viva - I played at Absolute for a while because I thought the play there was soft as well. I can tell you there are some bad players at Full Tilt also. There are bad players everywhere for that matter.

I actually remember the bonus on FT being easier to clear then on AP, but it's been a while since I cleared it. If I remember right they give it to you in $10 increments, similar to AP.

didn't you say in an earlier post that full tilt is the best site and now your mad about all the bad beats and how its rigged? hmmmmmmmmm

i personally like full tilt. i've had no problems. every one catches bad beats, even in live games, you just got to deal with it
