Merge Gaming Network - France blocked, some US states restricted!

i think all of you faced problem in log in to merge network i was searched on net i found a blog which described additional changes on merge network,all the us players needs to read this thread

it seems they are not going to block US players as merge had some updates and network was down...i think everything is like before and working well

why have they blocked 5 US states and not them all? dont u guys have the same laws?

First the US and then France, is the UK gonna be next, I thought we all lived in democracies and not some totalitarian state where every thought and movement is controlled by the government, they really are trying to run our lives when they cant even run their own, god I HATE all politicians

Very unlikely. A lot of poker sites or their parent companies are based in the UK or in UK dependant territories. Therefore, the UK government makes taxes from them and is content. In the end, it`s all about money.

Lol how 'bout no? The UK market is probably the safest. I mean the majority of gambling companies are licensed in the channel islands or Gibraltar anyway.

You should think that each state is a part of the US similar to how France is part of the EU. Except here we have a stronger fed. So each state has different laws regarding many different things. Here in California for instance we have medical pot (by state law), while many states do not. All the while pot is still illegal at the fed level (even medical pot is illegal).

A huge generalization about our political parties would be that the Democrats would prefer a bigger role by the feds, whereas the Republicans would prefer more state control. But do not cast that in your mental cement.

At the fed level, the government is tri-cameral (3 chambers). The executive (prez), Senate (represents the states as entities), and the House of Representatives (representing the people {sort of}). The US is not a pure Democracy, rather a representative democracy, aka Republic. All new laws have to be passed by all 3 chambers.

Many of the states also use the tri-cameral setup. Not sure if all the states do it the same way. Each state has a charter or constitution.

Take all that layering and the simple answer is no.
