| LOL wonder if this means the Poker Dome Challenge is over?? Our (U.S.) Gov't needs to get off it's ass and fix this whole online poker thing.... Ladies, gentlemen, write your Legislators. It is VERY important that they know how upset you are over this. |

| I sat here 15 minutes trying to write something that expresses my sympathy for our American members and my disgust with your ludicrous legislators. I deleted every draft. I can`t think of anything to say that covers the subject without being vulgar or blasphemous. |

I think you said it quite well. Thank you for your sympathy. Oh well...at least CC has some new smileys moved up on the list... a little ray of sunshine on an otherwise gloomy day |

| The thing about it I don't understand is that the legislation as nothing to do specifically with gampling sites yet they all keep banning american players. Maybe they are trying to do this to piss everyone off enough that players will take action to get the laws changed. Personally, I will never play in a site that has banned US players again even if the law changes and they all say "come on back, we love you." |

| Thankfully, I was wrong about not being able to access my account and withdraw funds. I can't do so through the poker software but can through the web site. Can't withdraw until I send them a copy of my passport or drivers license, though, which shouldn't be a problem -- I hope. I'm sure they're swamped with withdrawal requests from US players today. It really is a shame that perfectly legitimate sites feel the need to shut down to US players because of the inane laws being passed here. |

| re: Mansion shuts out US players poker Mr.Snake, I feel your frustration but, with respect, you`re missing the point. The fault doesn`t lie with the poker sites, it`s on the jackasses in American officialdom who are harrassing them, arresting their people, and trying to shut down their banking arrangements. Really, it`s not surprising that many of them would rather do business with the "free" world. The surprise is actually that there are any left who do still accept American players. If your neighbour was burgled, would you refuse to speak to him because of his involvement in crime ? Let`s keep straight who are the perps and who are the victims here. This mess starts and ends in Washington. If we allow ourselves to believe otherwise, we are not directing our anger where it really belongs. |

| Very well said Egon. Couldn't have said it better myself. You seem to be an eloquent writer. Maybe you could put us together something coherant to send to our legislaters. I have sent about 40 emails (none of them vulgar or nasty) and can't even get a response. Unbelievable. I guess none of these people want our poker playing votes. |

| Thank you, Dakota and Pokernut. If I thought I could help, I would be glad to do so. However, I am British and have no right to involve myself in American politics. Also, you have writers and speakers in America who can easily better my poor efforts. I can`t imagine that anything I might do or say would be effective, anyway. I have no vote in America, why should they mind me. My country`s government, allegedly the closest ally, has openly criticised your government`s actions in this and been ignored. The World Trade Organisation has ruled against it and been ignored. Only American voters can fix it, and I think it will be a long and weary road. |

| Egon, I think the American voters HAVE tried to change things. There was a balance of power change in Congress from the Republicans (that were in power when this bill was passed) to the Democrats. Unfortunately, I don't think online poker is a very important issue to the Democrats right now. I also somewhat disagree with your comments on not blaming the poker sites for what is going on right now. There have been grumblings about this for a few years now, yet no sites were in a big hurry to lobby for this not to happen. Only now that it HAS happened, do you see the PPA get on this and the sites scrambling to come up with solutions. |

| re: Mansion shuts out US players poker I have to admit that I am part of the problem, not the solution. I am only a member at one site, bodog, and even that site has disabled deposits. Somehow i took this as a blessing in disguise! Rather than writing to my legislator about what a discrace it is i made a posting about how lucky i am that i cannot lose any more money. However i am starting to grow more frusterated when i learn about our (US) blatent disregard for world politics. Hopefully, Hopefully, Hopefully the democrats can turn things around and proove to the world that America is not full of Idiots and Murderers before we make enemies out of everyone. How many miles is it to Canada from California? I might just get a uhaul this weekend and change my name to Cana420da. |

| What once was the "Moral Majority" in American politics has evolved into the "simplistic minority" . The rash and unthoughtful attack on banking institutions with the aim of preventing online gambling is poorly thought out and really quite superflous. The free market will always allow demand to be met with the perfect match of supply over time. Unfornately, what a few consider a solution is really just a waste of time and abuse of goverment power. I have faith in free markets and the power found when peoples exercise their rights to be heard and to change what obviously was done to control new freedoms the wonderful internet has shown us. |

The thing you're failing to grasp is that these closures to us players, in reality, have nothing to do with the recent legislation. It has to do with wire fraud and laws like that which are over 50 years old. Alot of these companies are publicly traded in other countries, and the arrest of the CEO, does bad bad things to the share value which is really all that matters to most corporations. |

If 3 million people stood together and said we will NOT vote for you over this issue, the politicians would listen. There are probably only 3 million voters would would throw their vote at a politician over the whole immigration debate that we're in right now, and you cannot find many politicians who say kick the illegals out now. They don't refuse to say this because it is not possible they refuse to say it because of the votes that they would lose IF they said it. |
