Making a PokerStars tournament

First question is how do you go about being able to do this?

second question is do you have to be an affiliate or a certain status on PokerStars to do this?

tthanks, i'm only asking because i want to start one soon for my 3k posts and possibly a bounty on my head, but thats not for a little yet, just want to be prepared

I believe you have to have amassed 2000 FPPs at some point. I'm not sure if there is a time frame on that. I don't think you need to be affiliated with anything else, but I'm not positive.

Yea - once you have 2000 FPP's you can contact support and request the option.

If you need help I can always set one up for you KC.

Yep I just emailed PokerStars support and they turned this on for me under the Request item in the Main Lobby. I host a family tournament about once a month that only gets 6-8 players but it's a lot of fun.

Just to be clear you don't need to currently have 2000 FPPS. You can have 2FPP now but spent 1998 on tourneys or stuff at the store and you can still get it.

Lo-Dogg is right.

You have to have *earned* 2,000 base FPP's. This also means that if you were given bonus FPP's they don't count.

So if you earned 2,000 but spent them all, you're good.
If you have 2,050 but 100 of those were a bonus (maybe from the 50% bonus that Silver Star members get) you're going to be 50 short.

Once you have earned the FPP's send an email to support@pokerstars.com and they'll activate your account that day.

How do you see how many you've earned? (not that I've looked; I just look at my current balance to see when I've got enough to play the 70FPP satellite)

Yeah, though it may be a misquote as it was a library book. Let me know if it's worded incorrectly.

By what is being said on this thread it seems what is required is to have earned 2000 VPP and not FPP (since the bonus doesn't count).

So the best way to see if you have earned them or not is to check your VIP status and see how many you have accumulated this year.

If you think you might be close just email support and ask for it. If they deny you they will tell you how many points you have earned.

I emailed them 3 times, first time I had 1800, second time 1992 (bastards) and finally when I had over 2000.
