| UltimateBet and Absolute Poker have semi limited java clients for mac... UB is alright (I havent tried AP) but I would stick with stars/FTP as they have the best support in place for mac and update regularly |

| thanks. last time i tried to download ultimate bet they didnt yet have a program for macs. i guess its only the big sites that bother with making a program usable for macs, oh well. hopefully this changes soon. |

| Right, UB, AP, PS and FTP all have mac clients, which ain't bad. You can play on PartyPoker via the web option which actually is really nice. In terms of software I suggest you monitor the PokerTracker 3 site as a free beta of that program is expected to be released in the next week. |

| re: Mac woes poker Since the advent of hardware virtualization software, which I won't delve too much into the technical aspects of, "Virtual PC" software for the mac and other platforms has improved 1000-fold I use VMWare Fusion on my MacBook Pro to run Windows Server 2008 RC2, and it works like a dream. I can run Windows programs alongside my Mac stuff without any hassles at all! |

| ok so found a torrent version of vmware fusion. is this gonna run smoothly or should i be buying it? also i wanna get poker tracker 3 and as far as i can tell they still dont have a mac version. am i able to run PS on my mac and poker tracker on the vmware simultaneously? |

| If you can afford it (it's only 100$, I got mine with a student discount), I'd just buy it. You also need a copy of Windows to install, and probably ~25 gigs of free HDD space. I run Full Tilt inside VMWare Fusion so I can use the HUD, but if you didnt want to use the HUD you could have PT3 import hands from your Mac partition |

When you open up VMWARE, and then start WINDOWS, your whole screen will be as if your MAC is Windows (or you can minimize). Its a really neat program. |

By minor, I meant the stuff Windows comes with. Unless you use all the extra crap Windows comes with, then you don't need to install the larger one. Plus he has a MAC and just wants to run Windows to play one poker APP, makes no sense either way. |

| Ive got a stripped down version of XP. I use it to run dos app's on an old Dell P1 with....wait for it ..... 128K RAM and a 10 gig hard drive :P. The install is aprox 160 Meg and the windows still runs fine. The big question is if OP has the hard drive space isnt it? |

| so.... i downloaded the poker tracker 3 free trial for the mac. its pretty cool. dont know how to get the HUD workin tho. i guess i dont need to bother with the whole virual pc thing anymore but thanks for all the suggestions. i do have a decent amount of hard drive space so it wouldnt have been a prob. doesnt sound like im missin out on any special promotions by not being able to download a client from another poker site. thanks for al the help. |

| You can play on Bodog instant play. All you need is an internet connection, though the traffic and game selection is no where near FT or Stars. Quote:
