Lost with straight against a pair of 9

At pokerstars I played in a tournament and was just sitting out, when I was automatically put all in with my last chips on the button.
My (flush709) hole cards were 6,7:
The board came: 3745Q
The player who was declared as winner, had: 99

I expected, getting the side pot, but was eliminated from the tournament.

When I realized the straight, I pushed the "I'm back" button.
Is this a bug in the software?

Please explain this to me.

On Pokerstars, unlike Full tilt, when you sit out, your hand is auto-folded. In fulltilt, when there's no bets, it will automatically check for you, but pokerstars will fold your hand even when you can "check".

You pressed the "I'm back" button after your hand has been folded so it wouldn't count.

That's the thing about sitting out, if you don't catch the i'm back button quickly enough your hand is folded. My advice is next time if you decide to play your cards push the i'm back button quickly.

Sitting out or not, I was All In.
I could not fold my hand.
So Pokerstars must not fold my hand.

Were you in one of the blinds when they put you all in? This may have something to do with it.

Your not sitting, therefore your cards aren't 'live'. It happends on Stars, and also in live tournies, where if you arent present at the table (which you are not) and the cards are all dealt out, your cards are removed from the table before the action starts

if you were all in at a casino and walked away from the table your hand would be folded regardless how big your winning hand would be. And that what you just did on PS when you click sitting out it telling them your not at the table at all. I hate people that sit out on tourneys....

Doesn't work that way on Poker Stars. You arae talking about "all-in protection". Poker Stars doesn't have "all-in portection". If you haven't click "I'm Back" before your first opportunity to act, then your hand is folded, regardless of whether or not you are "all-in."

Personally, I think it should work like it works at a casino and you should have to clik "I'm back" before the cards are dealt.

That's just the way it is. Trust me you'll be thankful when you see a donk who sits out all the way through win pots even though he's not there. I love Pokerstars for it.

It was not a bug or anything. When you sit out, on the river it will just auto fold your hand, you have to hit i'm back before the hand started and you would have won the chips. Some sites have this, but others do not and give them the chips. I believe sitters should not win the chips. Next time, click sit in before the hand starts, and you will receive the chips.
