Lost my job - Casino here I come! Well lost my job and now I'll have more time to play online poker (which my playing at work might have contributed I'm guessing). Anyway, after I was let go, I took $200 from my severance pay and went straight to the Hustler. I got there and it was one of the easiest games I've been at in a long time. It was 1-2 NL. Won $100 in about 1 1/2 hours. Now I know I probably can't keep the win rate forever but anybody know what the best times/days are for heading over to the casino to make some extra cash? I figure at least Friday and Saturday nights (because of the drunks). Any other good times? I also can't wait to kick my Ferguson bankroll building mission into high gear. I'm up to 118 in two months on FT. Need to get to 200 to get out of the 5NL and into 10NL at least. Wish me luck boys and girls, hopefully I can hold off the wife from making me a get a job this coming month.

Dude good luck. I've been doing the same thing in Atlantic city slnce I've been laid off. I play 1-2 NL, some small buy in tourneys and some 2-4 LHE when I want to get drunk and relax. Now that summer begins at the Jersey shore this weekend Atlantic city becomes the fish capital of the world. I got a couple grand in the ol bank roll. the casino comps and free room offers are coming in, Unemployment doesn't run out till October ..... yes its gonna be a great summer. Best advice I can give, ...... Always play your A game. Don't risk your cash if your not feeling right. And as in real estate .... location, location, location. Don't risk your stack at a table where your not feeling it. Pick your ass up and sit somewhere else. And get to know who the regulars are, .... it will come in handy someday. Once again good luck.

I`m a semi-regular in AC and its in high gear right now. I know the Dweez, he plays at any of the Harrah`s properties...Harrahs, Showboat, Ballys and Ceasers. Like he said, be very careful of the "regulars". Each room has a group of them and some get special treatment. In Bally`s there`s a couple guys that roam the room, checking for weak tables and the floor guys let them bypass the list and grab seats when they open up instead of waiting to get called and them seating you where they want like any ol` player. Same for the tourney guys who get the same table with each other and the same seats each week. Play your game, play smart and avoid the hard liquor (unless you`re donking around on 2/4) and you`ll do fine.

One pro suggested that you take a nap and go very late, like early in the morning, say 2am. Players still there will be tired, so you will have an advantage. Also, some players will likely be behind and are still there trying to "get even", so they will be playing loose hands they should otherwise fold. I don't know about the $1-$2 game, but it seems like good advice for bigger limits....

Thanks for all of the advice...I'm actually looking forward to more time at the tables. If I'm going to take a shot this is the time to do it! -You are right about the oldtimers although the people I won the most money off of were just maniacs. I would have won $200 if it weren't for one of the maniacs coming up with pocket A's and slow playing it. He was always aggressive and he slowplayed all the way. I should have noticed it but I promise it won't happen again...lol. - Thanks for the advice of after 2am..I did that once after going to the dance club at the Commerce casino..I was pretty buzzed but still cleaned up $300 that time playing with tired/frustrated people after the dance club closed. I don't drink and gamble anymore though. -Also about the BR, I told my wife that that money is for the BR and I promised I wouldn't take out anymore from the bank. I will be playing very tight and no booze, although I have a problem. After I win a big pot I get very bad shakes that won't go down until I drink one beer. I gotta learn to control that. It does come in handy against observant opponents. They think I have a monster when I shake like that. I've stopped telling them I'm always shaking but it's a little embarrassing stacking chips with shaky hands. -Not too worried about the job right now. With the savings I have and unemployment I should be good for 3 months. I'll be selective with my next job until 1 month from now and after that I'll take what I can get. Any other advice would be much appreciated.
