This has happened to me before. I put $50 on poker.com and in 2 weeks turned that into about $300, i then lost it all in 1 day. The worst day ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since then, i have built a new BR of $70 on poker.com from freerolls. I dont think its a good idea to make another deposit straight away if you lose your BR. Just try again from freerolls and low STTs!

I think, like most things in poker, it depends. (1)If you have been playing well and your not taking money from your hungry children (money that is surplus, ie dont play with scared money - if that make sense) then you reload with what money is surplus. (2)If it is money you cant spare, then freerolls it is. However, i would advocate a little sit out period, whare a review of the hands you lost out on takes place and see if there was a major leak there. if it was just being donked on then return playing either freerolls or reload depending on financial situation. So for me it depends, I wouldnt fancy building a bankroll through freerolls if i have surplus money to invest and rebuild my bankroll- especially if i know i was playing well and just got donked on. If i dont have surplus money i have no choice but to freeroll it! Ace

re: Loss of bankroll poker It's pretty tough going broke but hey look at my signature to put it in perspective. Take a little break and in that time assess why you play poker. Depending on the answer develop a bankroll management strategy that you can and are willing to follow. Then get back in the game and follow that plan.

Hmm - my option is not there lol. I have never lost everything because I have money at different sites. But if I lose most of it at a site I want to continue playing at - I just transfer or re-deposit. I don't consider any amount x bb's - I put in whatever I am willing to donate to playing poker at the time, which is usually $200-300 if I play there a lot. I have only put money in 3 times since last Sept - $150 in FT to test webatm, $85 in Bodog which I have more than quadrupled, and $250 in Pokerstars. (But to be fair - I have given away money in pokerstars to a friend and my sister, so that was not all in losses).

What sort of games do you intend to play. Obviously limit games less of a xBB deposit than NL games. MTT ? STT ? Very dependant on what games you want to play. If you were to say for example that you wanted to play $25 NL, id suggest a deposit of at least 5 buy-ins and to be prepared to step down accordingly if you hit a downswing.

I lost an initial $100 deposit by playing wrecklessly -- too high limits, games I don't play well. So to discipline myself for playing like such an ass, I decided I would have to rebuild my BR from freerolls (although I can take freeroll winnings and use them at the regular tables/tourneys) back to that $100 before I can make another deposit. So far I'm at around $82. I've gone into detail on some of this elsewhere on the forums.

re: Loss of bankroll poker well when i first started playing online poker about a year ago i lost my initial deposit on pokerstars of 100 dollars fairly quickly. I didnt know that much about poker and absolutely nothing about BR management and donked that off pretty fast. Then I lost a 40 dollar deposit on bodog and decided it was time to learn why i sucked so much. After looking at some stuff online I decided to put 25 dollars in poker.com b/c my friend had a bonus code where I would recieve 50 free up front. I turned that into 200 dollars on mostly luck, i was still not following BR management and a bad beat in a small buy in SnG sent me on tilt and lost 50 very fast. I decided that I would cash out the 150 that I had left b/c I had a feeling I would lose it fast. After that I really started reading into things and improved my game a ton. I decided that I would try to build from scratch like I had read about some people doing and won about 3.00 in a CC freeroll. I have turnedthat 3.00 into over 600 dollars in the past 4 or 5 months. So I guess I have tried both methods of redepositing and going for freerolls and I had much better success with the freeroll method. However I was a much better player after losing my initial 150 dollars.
