Looks like Doyles Room will be leaving the Cake Network

Nothing confirmed officially yet, but a rash of strong signs point to the writing on the wall: Doyle’s Room will be on a new network – possibly by month’s end.

I know they were micro gaming before Cake, there may have been another too... where next?

this is the reason i prefer to stick to full tilt and pokerstars, its almost commonplace now with these sites moving. its nice having variety and being able to pick and choose between sites but the reliability is like rolling dice.

I actually used to like playing on DoylesRoom & began playing on there back in 2007. I played a zillion 10cent sng's & to be honest the play was more solid than the $1's on FTP & Stars. I started with a freeroll cash of $2.20, built that up to $175 playing those 10cent sng's (hundreds of them) & then some 20nl cash tables '&' these 'raked hand' required freerolls they used to run throughout the day ($500 freeroll some of them, and ~400 - 450entrants(sometimes a bit more). They held 7Stud, 5cd-draw, PLO, PLO8, & NLHE. It gave me the oppurtunity to get started at playing some tournaments I wouldn't normally be playing in... along with being able to build up a bigger roll to play tournaments with (I shipped a 7stud on there one night!). I had a friend (from another forum) doing pretty much the same thing & we used to challenge each other to see who could build up more (both from zero).
By the time I hit over $200 I was also able to get a handful of friends started out on there too.
I took that account up to over $700 before I got bored with it... and yup (again) I actually liked the software 'once they'd done the upgrade while on microgaming'.. 'BUT' once they moved to Cake I pretty much stopped playing on there altogether (trading off most of what I had prior to CAKE deal).

I hated the Cake software & couldn't be bothered with it (although I had some friends who were multi-tabling the $20sng's & were killing them). Pretty sure I missed out on some ez money there.

Cake has dropped off quite a bit since then & again I rarely play on there although I played a few tourneys this past week & managed to final table in one of them (weeee, lol).

Will be interested to see what's up with the move. It seems REALLY Strange that they did the big promor thing with the 'Brunson 10', acquiring 10 REALLY top notch online players (who obv. also play live but are reknown for their online play..... ie. Chris Moorman (aka Moorman1), Steve Gross (gboro780)) but then there's never really been any apparent effort into making that site fly?? (and then also with recent departure of Lee Jones who kinda seemed to have lost interest there awhile ago & wasn't surprised to see him pack it in).

Hmm... maybe I should think about firing up some more MTTs from Doyles before they make the change there.

... thought I'd add in my little story here about my experience with Doyles... as it is (was) a site that served me well at one point in time (provided me with entertainment & an avenue to learn how to get better at playing poker).

I just formatted my PC yesterday and started downloading poker sites back. I can not download Doyle's Room. Now I know why thanks to this post. I haven't played at Doyles in ages but I still have a couple gold cards there, I guess there gone now. Interesting to see where they will be going next.

It's not going to be Cereus and it's not going to be bodog so that leaves PS,FT or Merge.

I liked Doyles when it was on Micro, but almost never play any of the Cake sites. Hope they move as I would like to try them out again. Not sure why most of the Cake sites seem so unseemly. Just don't see much value for the player on those sites...

PS and FT are not networks are they?

I think it could be Cereus actually. With the money they are saving not paying Annie and the Mouth this would be very good in my opinion.

ps and ft are both networks but they are standalone networks so i doubt very much that they would allow anyone else to join there networks

i aggre i think the best option would be the cereus nework but again like the ft ps they only have 2 sites on there network ap and ub and i dont think they have any plans to bring other skins onto the network

Downloaded the new version today. Took a while. Also got a message that my nick was used by another player. -- Don't believe it, enter it anyway.

Haven't played there yet-a little confusing and it looks like you have to deposit to do P2P transfers, even though I could do them on the old Doyles, I can't find a button on the new one.

Also couldn't find out the w/d requirements. Cake network was $500 for checks-don't know if that has changed now, but I also don't have a working cashout button.

Just downloaded the new software. Had to change my log and display name. Software doesn't look bad but at this moment there isn't enough action. The sit n go double upsare busy though.

I can't believe that anyone would want to even give this site a try?? Honestly I think I'd be more into eating a menu from FearFactor series than to play on that site.

It took me a while but I finally downloaded it. Had to change my name also. At first kept getting message: Download failed. Error=0x80004004 Operation aborted.
I counted a little less that 200 players playing. (all holdem) No other games. They had two tournies going with 55 in one and less in the other. The only good thing that I saw were the Double up sit n gos. 5$ had a .25c fee.

Doyle is on Yatakay network. It's the old Truepoker which I tried years ago and they have less players now than they did then.

Seriously.... you'd want to put money on this site? Why? It's horrible.
PokerScout stating that it averages '73' real money players online. That's ridiculous.

I actually just played on there for 1/2hr. and there were probably less than 20hands played on one table (actually maybe 15).. it is sooooooo slow. Some players taking 40secs. to 'check'??? at 10nl wtf is that?

Here's a few of the negatives on there (imo).. that I've even been able to find/see.
Tables don't resize - they stay that one puney-ass size.

THere are NO PLAYERS on the site! (unless you consider like 5 tables of 10nl to be okay (didn't see a 5nl or 2nl)). AND this is probably real busy for them... because of all of the 'new' players trying it out from Doyles (half the players on the tables I was on were from Doyles... trust me, none were happy, lol).
Tournament Lobby is terrible - I saw one MTT on there tonight that had like 65entrants, the next biggest was ~38entrants. Looks like the BIG Weekly tourney is a $50 buyin on Sundays with $7,000guar. (wonder when we'll see Chris Moorman on there?.. or Steve Gross (gboro780).. or any of the other Brunson10? (will they be adding in some tables from tuckahachi to their Sunday MTT schedules?.. or whatever it's called).
The software is SUPER CHEAZZY.... terrible! I don't think you can move to another seat on there? When the bet-slider comes up (it just magically appears in the middle of the table) it was actually covering over other player's cards & bets... I couldn't even tell who'd bet... I knew someone had bet.. but couldnt' tell who it was, lol.

Pluses: the players on there were reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad. I flopped an open-ended RoyalFlush draw & guy stacked off 100bb's vs BB's MPnK (MidPr. no kicker.. he had 10-6o)... but I missed & he took it down with his pr lol. (he called my raise in blinds, then donkbet the flop, I reraise POT.. he ships it in.. lol.

I'm guessing/assuming that some of the members posting on here aren't reading through any/many of the posts (ie. can I deposit w e-cheque.. you can deposit directly to my FTP acc't. & I will sit with you on DoylesRIProom & ship you my bankroll on the micro HU tables)

No you didn't have to change your display name! As Charade said, when it tells you it is used just enter it again! It told me tbdbitl was used (yeah by me), so when it asked to enter a name to see if it is available, I entered tbdbitl again. And, poof, I'm tbdbitl!

So you are saying if this site and the Cake Network was the only online poker sites in the world that Cake is the greatest site in the world!

Not sure why they would go with this. I guess they got booted off Cake which is a lot better to be honest. I wonder what happens to people's gold cards? I had some tourney tickets that weren't transferred over either.

Doyles Room is open now. Its a little different. You have to check it out. More like the original Doyles Room than Cake.

I heard(2+2) DR will honor the 33% RB for the next 3 months. Then, they will switch to 27% RB.
