LOL at Poker stars Poker stars has a daily free roll called the daily eighty grand, only 7 people advance, when it first started there were 10,000 players, then its went to 20,000 players, and now its at a whopping 40,000 players, with only 7 people making it. I figure the least they could do is up the amount of people that qualify, hell while they are at they just should make it unlimited.

Aren't there freerolls at other sites that offer only ONE advancement entry as the 'prize pool' ?? They may have increased the number of entries, but they are still only offering 7 prizes... Kinda like a lottery ... which is what this plays out like. I quit playing when they increased the entries.

The pokerstars freerolls are an insane waste of time. I haven't deposited there and doubt I will. I love how they have these freerolls with 1000s of people maybe 1% advance saty into another freeroll to play 1000s of people. Too much work for me to handle.

Amazing What's amazing is that 7 players will win or advance. It seems impossible but someone has to win. I think I can safely say that luck is the determining factor in making it. I've played in a few and never came even remotely close. I wonder what the secret is. Anyone know about how long it takes to make the final table with 40,000 entrants. It also would be interesting to have 60 million chips at the end of a tourney.

re: LOL at Poker stars Yeah it's waste of time. I guess ppl just play there for fun not to win. Everybody knows that there is very very low chance of gettin in top 7. But there are cool freerolls in other rooms. Eg Everest has bankroll builder satelites every day. 50 seats for a 2500$ freeroll and about 2000 players (but half of them drop out in the first 5 minutes - sitouters).

Well, they upped the entries to 40,000, but did not increase the payouts in proportion. In other words, it's still only 60 folks that get a prize. When they originally increased it from 10,000 to 20,000, at least they increased the payouts from 27 to 60.

Wait you mean they're not giving you enough for nothing? A better business plan would be to give people who aren't going to deposit more free money I guess. They're actually smart though. They get a bunch of people to play a bunch and get hooked and realize how much the freeroll structure sucks. The only way for them to play then unless they get insanely lucky is to just deposit, then they pay rake and Stars profits. You do realize they don't do freerolls for charity right?

The winners used to receive a ticket to play the Daily $80k which is a $50+5 buyin MTT. A buddy of mine won it on one of his first tries. He didn't cash in the $80k though. Can you imagine ponying up the $55 only to be seated on a table with a few freeroll donks? Now that'd be sick imo.

re: LOL at Poker stars Yea, Ive never really played the freerolls on Pokerstars, just a little too many people. Started my bankroll on full tilt tho in their freerolls before they increased the amount of players, hmm damn those few freeroll cashes have gone far.
