Does anyone know what kind of casino NLHE live table stakes I might find here in the Chicago area? Looking for something within my BR, which would be well under 1/2 NL. How hard is it to find live lower stakes tables (25NL or 50NL)?

TIA!

I used to play at Majestic Star in Gary, IN (used to be Trump). It's an easy drive from Chicago.

It's been about a year since I lived there, but I think the lowest NL game they had was $2/$5. Damn, I can't remember for sure.

Potawatomi Bingo Casino - Paysbig.com

It's right off of I-94 near Downtown Milwaukee

You're almost never going to find a game lower than 200NL at a casino, thought I have seen a couple of $1/$1 structure games floating around.

Yeah, the lowest I've ever seen at a casino is 200NL. Even in Columbus's local "Vegas Nights" (we don't have casinos here :() The lowest NL you'll find is 200NL and cheapest limit game is $3/$6 (which I destroy :D). It's just not profitable enough for a casino to spread anything less than 200NL.

Columbus, OH? I'm at OSU right now. The only place I ever heard of was the Gemini Club or something and it sounded like there were a bunch of unnecessary fees.

Yeah, there's a local company that runs "charitable game nights" at local VFW's & such 3-4 days a week. Their website is cbuspoker.com, it's got listings of where they'll be on any given week. There are a few decent players but a lot of fish too. They generally run 200NL, 3/6 limit, 10/20 limit, a $40 tourney & a $150+ tourney. I've heard of the Gemini Players Club before, but never checked it out because it seems kind of shady. It basically sounds like an illegal cardroom, but they advertise in the paper, so I dunno. I'll stick with CbusPoker which is totally legal according to Ohio's charitable gaming laws (which are incredibly strict). I don't get out as often as I'd like though, drop me a line if you plan on hitting one, maybe I'll come by.

I'm actually in the Naperville area. I am on the chicagocharitablegames.com e-mail list, but have yet to make it out for any of their events.

I may head over to the Saturday event since it's about 4 miles away from me. :)

the Rockford charitable games can be found on the internet. I too have played a bunch at the majestic star. There is a Tourney there this week in fact. $300.00 qualifiers and a 1650.00 direct buy in to main event. Not sure about the cash games but they have a toll free number on their website
