Live Poker Question Going to the hard rock Casino on Thursday to play some live poker, any tips/advice you can give me, this will be my first time at a casino, I already know every pot I win, I will tip the dealer, but is there anything else I should know? Also what music should I load on my IPod for the tables?

i will be honest i wouldn't tip the dealer every hand i win.. if you are an aggressive player you will end up tipping him like 40 bux... just play well and pay attention to every detail.. players movement.. their hands... shaking not shaking... voice inflection... things such as that I would upload calming music just in case you catch a bad beat... have fun and be nice to people and it will be an enjoyable experience

Just like undone said. You don't have to tip everytime you win a hand. I like to tip when the cards are very good and I win a very huge pot, then you tip the dealer because I'm happy. hahaha Talk a lot with the people at the table, but not during a hand, you don't want to give some tips if you say something stupid. During a hand just be quiet, that's my advice, don't answer questions. Just smile and concentrate. And don't forget: Have fun

I agree. No IPod and no need to tip every win. If you want to tip, tip the dealers when they rotate out, and when you get up. Tip the barmaids for every drink, if you drink, but don't drink alot if you want to win. But the main thing is Do everything the same, every time. Look at your cards the same way, stack your chips the same way, announce your bets the same way, put in your chips the same way. Don't watch the turning of cards. Watch the players react to the cards, and then glance at the cards. Identify the pigeons and the sharks, and play accordingly.

I'm going to remember all this advice for my first time at a live casino cash game. I play a few live home games, but i'll be honest my family are terrible poker players. Only my younger cousin has beat me on heads up for $20, but i've won over $80 on home games. I've played about 10-15 home games normally its from $1-5 buy in, but only once have I played $10 HU w/ my cousin and I lost.

Well first off, which hard rock are you going to? Second off, play tight at first til u get a feel for the table.... but most importantly, pick apart the drunks!!! dont let them bluff you they will cbet with middle pair, DONT GET PUSHED AROUND...trust me I play at the hard rocks down here in FL, its easy easy easy money if you keep your head in the game.
