re: Limping in with suited cards poker The most important aspect of playing high suited connectors is "table position'! Late position you can play some early position you fold because you hand can not be played profitably against a raise as a general rule anyway.

I only ever play them in late position when you can limp in. When you hit your flush make sure you watch for someone who may have a higher one though. A lot of people will go in a pot with any face card and another card suited. It's a bad play, but without bad poker players no one would make any money. If the table folds around to you in late position, make a small raise. You may have the best hand so far. Mind you, this advice is for a tourney. Generally playing very tight aggressive will profit you most in ring games, so I usually won't play a suited connecter under 8-9. And still only in mid to late position. Jon |

Hi, I have a different view on suited connectors. If i'm in mid position and say 3 limpers are in,i'll make a small raise. (8 9 and above). If your gonna play suited connectors, you need usually 2/3 people in the pot to make it profitable, however don't start fumbling around with low suited connectors as you can be stung when you hit your flush by a higher one, Daniel Negrano (can't remember how to spell it) loves to play suited connectors as does 'Devilfish'. They are a kind of 'suck and see' hand.

The main reason I was asking this is I usally fold in the early postion with lets say 8 9, but in the same hand I see people hitting the flush mind you its usally at the river. Now I do play them in the late position but it usally never pans out for me.

re: Limping in with suited cards poker Suited connectors need lots of people in the pot to be profitabe since the or long odds plays. Even late position if there are like 2 other people in the pot with you folding something lower than J10 might not be bad with a minimum raise. If you get to see it with no raise you might lower your requirements a bit more. Be ready to fold if the flop misses you though.
