Just moved to Charlotte area

Just moved to the Charlotte, NC area and realized there are no casinos so I am looking for some live game action if anyone has info pm me please.

I live in the same area, and have been looking for the same type of thing, i have found a few poker clubs that have spots in the charlotte area, cant remember the names right now. But i have yet to try any of them out.

You do have Cherokee, NC, but thats about 2 hours away. They only have pokertek tables, so you need to be able to tolerate those also. One positive about pokertek is you don't have a dealer to tip, and people have a max of 45 sec to act, so you get about 40-50 hands an hour instead of 25-35. But no real cards or chips. I don't mind it.

I too live in NC. Instead of the two hour drive to Cherokee... I would make it a 3 hour (3 for me at least) drive to Charleston West Va. Live games and tourneys there. Games are beatable especially on the weekends. Weekdays seem to be alot of regulars though.

Yes, you need to drive that far if you want to see live games. May be if you have time, then you can move there and play but if you have no time, online poker is the best solution.

there's a few sites out there that people list their home games on, and you can search by state, like homepokergames.com and pokeristingdiy.com or something like that, but you can google it if those are wrong. I found a free bar league around my area(not in nc tho but in va), and started playing there and eventually got invited to a cash game, and that led to me knowing where a cash game, or two or more, is every night of the week all within 15 mins of my house.

The games I am aware of in Charlotte are pretty big games and many are Omaha. Not sure if you were looking for cash or touranments?

You can go to meetup.com as well. Not sure where in Charlotte you are but I think there is an active group in South Charlotte and Huntersville that have regular games throughout the week.
