The Gala Casino in Birmingham has a promotion for live tournament players which sounds interesting starting on Monday. Details:

"For two weeks from Monday 25th July to Saturday 6th August, Gala Birmingham will be running a Grand Prix event in conjunction with our New Cardroom programme.

The Casino will be putting £10,000 into the final of the Grand Prix event to take place on Sunday 7th of August. There will also be 55 seats available for direct buy-ins of £200+20 making an estimated prize pool of over £20,000!!!
There will be two ways of gaining entry into this poker extravaganza. Players can qualify for a seat by playing one of our evening tournaments* and finishing in the top five on a Sunday to Friday or, on a Saturday, the top ten players will gain a seat in the Grand final!

All players may only win one seat through the evening tournaments and seats are not under any circumstances transferable. In the event that a player makes the qualification places in a tournament after he/she has already qualified then the seat will go to the next player down in that tournament ranking. I.e. if there is one player in the final five on a Tuesday that has already qualified then the player who finishes 6th will take the seat in the final, if there are three players in the final ten on a Saturday then the seats will be taken by the players finishing eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth and so on…

If a player decides to buy in directly for the final and then qualifies for a seat, that player will have his buy-in money refunded and will take the seat that he/she has qualified for through the evening tournament.

During the Grand Prix fortnight, we will be holding single table sit and go satellites for the main event with a £22 buy-in for a guaranteed seat for the winner.

All qualifiers will start the Grand final with 10,000 chips with a half an hour clock throughout. Alternates and late entries will be allowed for the first two hours of play.

*Players will not be able to qualify through the Saturday and Sunday £20 Deep & Steep Tournaments."
