I'm not playing at pokerstars, what they are making me do is ridiculous

Background: just so you guys know, I dont multi account, nor have I Ever. I havent done anything wrong here, just made a few small transfers(under 20 dollars) with some of my friends.

Hello Gregory,

Thank you for your email and for allowing us to be of assistance.

Previously we requested you to provide us some form of ID. To date we have
not received anything.

Based on reports from our database, it appears that you may have a
close relationship with several other PokerStars players.

There is not a problem at all if you do know or are related to these
users. PokerStars welcomes friends and family to play on our site.
We do, however, prefer to know when multiple members of the same
family or household are playing here.

Upon investigation, it appears that the following accounts may be
somehow related or more than just passing acquaintances:

pifmonster23
pifmonster32
agentXzero
MLBelair
TheFknHero

If you know any of the above players, please provide us with a
detailed explanation of your relation to them. Please include their
names, user ID's and their relationships to you.

Thank you for your email and for allowing us to be of assistance. As
previously mentioned in the past emails you account is suspended until
you provide us with our request. Please also note when you register with
us at PokerStars, you agreed to out Terms and Conditions.

As part of our security procedures, we ask that you send us the
following information:

Personally if I never had anything to hide from them I would just send it. I think that those things they are requesting really isn't asking to much, considering the situation you're in.

hope it all works out for you

i have nothing to hide. I thought i worked it out with pokerstars, and i explained to them that all those ppl are just my friends and we'd just all play cash games and stuff together. I mean im nto a high stakes player, highest limit i play is .25/.50 and thats rare.

The problem I have with them is that they basically disregarded what I said, and am now making me send in all this stuff, plus sign that paper.

and herein lies the problem^^^^, there must have been some questionable transfers and stuff like that for them to be suspicious.

Maybe you should question the "friends" whose ID's PokerStars listed. It is possible that PokerStars suspects them of some misstep and thinks that you may be part of it. If one of them says they were suspended, then they may have unknowingly tainted your rep with Stars, too.

Also, I would not have a problem giving Stars any info that they are asking for except a clean credit card copy. I wouldn't send a clean copy in the mail or fax. See if they will let you blackout the number except for the last 4 or something.

^^^ What Stick said ^^^

Was the transfer to you coming from one of the accounts in question?

If someone is multi accounting, colluding or whatever and is under investigation for cheating, then tries to transfer money out of their account to someone else, it's only logical that that account would be one to investigate also.

PokerStars multi-accounts

Poker Stars are on top of that. I downloaded PokerStars while my other half was at work and when he tried to create his own account they made him contact support. They responded saying that he had to give them my username and told us that we were not to play on the same table at the same time. Which is fine cause we only have 1 pc, but they want to make sure no ones ripping anyone off but them. J/K I understand, though.

Good for pokerstars! Send them what they are asking for. They are probably requesting the same from all of the id's listed. This will prove they are all different people. Any that don't cooperate - they should close the account.

Leaving the last 4 numbers off your credit card number won't help you at all if an experienced "fraudster" gets it - they can come up with those last 4 numbers in a matter of minutes. I wouldn't worry about it - just give them the whole number. If somebody gets it you are not responsible for the charges anyway.

looks like the famous "Five different names, one IP address " scam
With mom's Visa card thrown in the mix.
If everything is legit. give them the Info they need and your back in business.
Whats the problem .
I think its great that Pokerstars takes fraud seriously and you should too.
Unless ....................................there's a problem ?????????

Kinda suck when you done nothing wrong and you have to go through something like that with a poker site.

But then again you can't blame a site, it is just watching out for it's member , like this forum would do for its member also.

I would like to say everyone in the world is honest, but we all know that isn't so. There is always someone out there trying to get an edge by being a cheater.

It happens in the real world all the time and we all have seen it or heard of it happen on the internet.

How stupid do you have to be to do this ^^.

Oh wait, that was your "friend" right? Sorry if you are legit, but this looks bad even to me (and I don't even have all the info that Stars does).

Well looks like you can comply or not. If you do not will they confiscate funds? Maybe you should do it since you have nothing to hide. I hate it when I become "suspicious"

I have to agree with Infamous ...

Not a matter of anything to hide, but I wouldn't do it anyway.
But then, I only have about $40 there ...
Another site (can't remember which) asked for the same from me when I wanted to re-open a closed account. Told them to forget it. I'm not sending a copy of my passport or driver's license to any gaming site!

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean you're not being followed!

Yeah, they also do IP matches and since they dont allow more than one person per account...when they see mutiple accounts frequent the same IP they will ask for ID

And all the other stuff the guys UP there said

And transfers arent usually a problem unless you are transfering with Theives.....I have thousands transfered in and out of my account because I am on a Staking Site and have never had a problem

There is more going on here than matching ip addresses and transfers between those accounts. My husband and I have matching ip addresses and have done transfers multiple times and have never been asked to provide any id's - or anything at all.

OP is leaving something out.

Pokerstars doesnt care if you tell them the truth. Just tell them you had multiple accounts, they will shut some down and keep others. The only time they care is if you were using the accounts to cheat.

True, I've play with many regulars from many forums, but though they seem to be good online friends , you still have to be alert.

One thing I would say never think you can CHOP a prize with someone . It happen to me a guy used to play all the time. 1st place tourney paid $2k, winner take all. Went heads up, and agree to chop. He did win, never chop it and his account was deleted. The site couldn't do anything.

Play to win
