Are the HyperTurbo's beatable? Just got a few bonus points on Stars and looking at my options for spending them!. Gonna enter a couple of the 10pt $500 games and the 20pt $1000 games, they are usually pretty soft. The other games I looked in to for the points I have banked are the Hyper Turbo's, Starting from 3 points. Now I was just curious, never having played one of these, are they beatable playing real poker, or is it just gonna be a shove-fest? I've no problem playing a push or fold game for these kind of stakes, especially if i've a proper game going at the same time, but i'll just stick to the 3 point and 10 point games if its a crap shoot. Nearly bought myself a bad-beat stress ball instead... part of me is still thinking its a better option! lol Thanks in advance. I'd prefer replies from players who've tried their luck at these before.

Beatable how many times? Its kinda like spending money on a lotto ticket. sometimes you win, more often than not you lose. I've played a few and they are just ridiculously crazy, so in answer to your question I would say that they are not continually beatable

if you wanna try it, take part in one of these curious 1cent 990 players SnG. Also a short stacked game, beginning with 500 chips and blinds 25/50 with ante 10 on the first level. 40 players get a payout. its better to lose only 1 cent than 100 fpp anyway: i tried it one time and won

I spend alot of time gringing the hyper turbos, sometimes i play 2 and 3 at a time to make sure i stay playing tight until i get a decent chips stack established.... But generally i win about 2 out of 5, Not bad but the class of people that play them seem to play the odds quite often really well... But stick tight to eastablish that chip stack you can sit comfortable with and play your game... i usually just sit back collect a little here a little there and watch the numbers of people drop until the blinds make so i have to bring out the bluffs and loosen up a bit! hope this helps, Good luck on the felt!

I play the occasional hyper-turbo. People play bad, so yes it is beatable. However, there is a *lot* of fold-or-shove play so luck is a bigger factor and there is more variance. Basically, people are too aggressive early on. They call shoves with K/x hands. Early on if I have any Ace I shove, and if someone shoves I call with A/T+ or pairs 4/4+. There is absolutely no playing drawing hands like middle suited connectors as stacks are too small to give you the implied odds.
