How to turn off annoying Carbon Poker alerts?

While the Carbon client is open it periodically pops up alerts from my toolbar, the way a Windows update notice would show up. It's VERY annoying, to the point it makes me not want to play there. I haven't found a way to shut them off -- all I saw was a checkbox not to see news during play, and that didn't avert them.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these?

try settings
- general and unclick show news in game
- contacts onclick notify

I believe that will get rid of them.I do not have popups like that on any merge sites,so there is a way to turn them off.However,if a friend comes online at merge,I do get a popup for that.

under contacts can switch off the announcement of friends online.

only cannot find a way to get rid off the game announcements like,
got a bounty , your out lol

I also am wondering about getting rid of these annoying task bar popups on Merge.

So far from the thread it seems its not possible? Im talking about the tourney popups, A tournament is just starting or starting soon with 7000 overlay blah blah only $33 or whatever.

If anyone from merge is reading get rid of this annoying popup, it wasn't there a couple weeks ago, then an update, now stupid popups. Pop ups should be made illegal if you can't turn them off.

That very funny cause I started getting really annoy by them too. I think it just recently started popping up for me. I tried yesterday to rid them, but I'm pretty sure you can't.

I checked the boxes for no news during play and no alerts when friends sign on, and I have not experienced the popups since. Thanks wolfie! Others who are still getting them, try both of those -- though technically the friend alerts shouldn't affect tournament popups, who knows!

Both of those have always been unchecked for me. I pretty much only get the popup for big guaranteed tournaments.

I checked the boxes to show news in game and to notify me of contacts signing on and didn't see a pop up last night. Hrm. It seems my boxes are different? Playing on Players Only, there is no box to not see news in game, the box is to see news in game. Should see after today whether that was it.

Nope, another pop up. Wonder if now clicking them off, the way they were to begin with, will turn them off, but I doubt it.
