How spending FTP affects RB

Can someone explain this to me. I've got 80,000 FTP, but I don't wanna punch my rakeback in the face. What's the deal with this?

If you spend them on tourney entries they don't hit your MGR at all. If you buy stuff from the FTP store they'll cost you $5.00 per 1000 points spent against your MGR which equals $1.35 hit to your actual rakeback.

WV, do you know if that is rakeback site dependant or no? Because the site I am with says something about points being used for tourneys will be deducted.

According to the FTP site rep at 2+2 (and many peoples personal experience) they are not currently (the rep did leave open the possibility that it could change at some point). I don't think this is rb site specific. Pretty sure the rb sites just put that there to let you know that if FTP deducts for it you're getting the hit.

I got deducted rb twice this week and they were on days that I played the CC freerolls at FT. Anyone else get that deduction or no?

I'm pretty sure they deducted rb from me at FTP for freerolls and for using points but it isn't exactly clear.

I've had my Rake hit by the unlockable $100 bonus Full Tilt gave out at the start of the month. Every time I unlock $10, my rake for the day goes to almost zero!
Pretty nice bonus for the folks with no rakeback...giving with one hand and taking away with another for the peeps who have it though!

Just out of curiosity though, if you do use your points in the store, and your rake drops into the minus numbers, do you then have to spend weeks building back it back into the black before you get paid rake again, or does it just reset to zero after a missed week?
If that makes sense?

It never resets. It stays negative until you rake enough to raise it.

The bonus will hit your MGR for the exact amount of the bonus. This means that you lose 27% of the bonus amount. So your $100 bonus was actually a $73 bonus. Small price to pay.

On the CC games rb question. It seems that CC games are at least partially funded by FTP so that being the case they will hit your MGR.

Mase, wait till you do not play on ftp to use them.

Btw...just my two cents, but FullTilt sucks with their points program anyways. The only way you can get any type of cash bonuses or tourney tickets is through IronMan medals or Academy points. The FTPs are really only for merch, which I mean some of it is really nice, but it doesn't really have anything to do with making me more money, lol.

You can use your FTP's to enter satty MTT's for event MTT's .... which pay in tourney entry ticket/s or more FTP's ... but they will result in a hit to your rakeback.

Here's an e-mail I received from RBP today responding to a question I sent about the negative rakeback I am accumulating by playing CC buy-ins and even the OFC game this past Sunday ...

I got approved last week and so far have a negative rb balance of -$1.08 after buying into 2 tourneys for cash and playing 100+ hands of stud hi last week at .10/.20 and .25/.50 ...

After paying the above rakes, it will take an additional ~$4.00 paid at full rake to get back to $0.

For those who play a large volume of ring or non-money added games at FT, it's probably a good thing. I've seen a lot of fairly large numbers being returned to players, but it seems this is only if you are playing equally large numbers in regards to total bankrolls. Serious rakeback won't be accumulated by micro players who also play the money added and guaranteed games ... which is where a lot of CC members seem to fit into the numbers.

nick, I actually got just about the exact same email from RBP when I emailed them earlier this week. I also just got approved for RB on my existing account, only I have made ~$3 since last Tuesday, I had one day where I was like -.15 and one where I was -.53. I was in both CC tourneys and the OFC tourney as well(even though I only actually played in the Tuesday CC one) so that's where my neg. RB was. Kind of BS if you ask me.

Also, any of your previous points that you had in your account prior to getting RB will now negatively affect your RB, which I also think is a load of crap. In my mind, anything that was in there before last Tuesday should be mine for the keeping

As for OFC and CC games, if a tournament gets it's $$s added or it's prize pool paid for by FTP it WILL effect your MGR (rb).

THis must be site specifive WV, because I know my rakeback was affected negatively one week when I played a bunch of 650ftp sng satellites. (not sure if it was affected by paying the 650ftp buyin or if it was from winning the 2,500ftp's a bunch of times, regardless... it was effected!). If I knew for sure that my rakeback wasn't affected by playing these I would for sure play a bunch more of them (easy way to get Fulltilt gear, lol... miniftops entries etc.). I'll try looking into it further.

Did you spend the points or use them to buy into a tournament that may have had an overlay? Do those SnGs themselves have an overlay (I have no clue as to their structure)?

I did this last year when I took a break from poker. Last month I came back and my rakeback account showed -$258. Talk about starting in a hole and digging your way out...
