How Many Poker Rooms is Too Many ??

Hmmmm, I joined yet another poker site this morning and for some reason decided to add up how many sites I am currently linked to. Just a mere 43 !!!!! Plus I can think of another half dozen that I have joined over the years but could not be bothered downloading again when my old computer died.
I probably play regularly at only six sites but in my quest for freerolls and trying to start that elusive bankroll from scratch I am always looking for some easy bucks.
Is this too many, or is this a common strategy?
Cheers

Stop freeroll hunting. Learn how to play the game properly with a couple of books and reading/posting here. Buy a pocker tracking software. Deposit some money on one of the major sites. Play real money games.

This is the path to enlightment. What you're doing right now will keep you stuck in freeroll limbo forever.

Two should be enough

I think two sites is enough.

For my money, I would play only on PokerStars and FullTilt.

However, belonging to a Poker Forum, Some of the Freerolls are played on other sites.

I have too many. About ten or eleven, all with FR money in them.

Only site I ever deposited was PokerStars. And, that was $10.00 three years ago.

If you dont play the FRs in a Forum, I think PS and FT can cover all your poker needs.

re: How Many Poker Rooms is Too Many ??

I currently have accounts at 12 sites on my computer, and I thought that was a lot. Some of the sites I had accounts with left the US market(Party Poker, Hollywood Poker,Ect.), merged it other sites(Full Contact Poker), or closed its doors. Like you, I only play on a handful of sits regularly. But if you add them all up, I had accounts on close to thirty sites.

I will be condensing down even more in the near future. Some sites have too low a traffic volume, and the freerolls are getting smaller.

I play, and have money on several sites.

Stars,
Tilt,
Party,
I-Poker,
Ultimatebet,
Bodog.

Anymore and your barking up the wrong tree, trusting 30+ sites with my money is something i will not do. Hunting for freerolls on little known sites may seem attractive, but build up a decent roll on any of them and be well prepared for a nasty suprise when you try to cash out.

I've played on quite a few over the years, maybe 7 or 8 but I only really play on 2 at a time. If I ever left one of them I may search for another one. I sometimes like to switch rooms if I hit a bad patch on one of them. Feels like you can start fresh.
Stars and Titan is where I play at now and am pretty happy with both of them. If you play regularly at the same stakes you get to know the players at your site and how they play. If you play at too many then you could be missing out on that.

Thanks Belgo - I have put some $$ into a couple of sites and play real money games regularly. I know it makes no sense at all, but I am much more reluctant to play real money games at those sites than those where I have built a start from scratch through freerolls and then moved into real money games. Happy to play $12 tournies at Cake but only 25c Sit n Goes at Stars
Dammit ....... I do love those freerolls though.
Cheers.

Here are all the sites I have downloaded and I play regularly:

Pokerstars
Full Tilt
Ultimate Bet
Party Poker
Carbon Poker

I only trust a few sites with my money. I use to download sites to hunt freerolls and then try to withdraw. But a lot of them have lots of requirements for you to be able to withdraw. So I just stick with the big sites.

QFT ^^^

While I have probably, over time, had 40 different sites loaded and updated, I deleted/removed most of them and I'm only using the sites that CC holds events at for US players (no Titan, no Party), and that amount gives me the delusion that I can play somewhere where the cards are better.

To be honest playing on 1 really good site in stead of playing a mixture of good, normal and bad sites would be better, you can concentrate learning better on one than playing on a number at a time and it must be hell trying to find all these freerolls when you could be playing poker at the time

I prefer to just play on FTP & PS. Too many sites is just too many tourney options to keep track of for me.

hard to control when you are on too many, you just get confused

I play on only once, and thats enough for me.

43 seems to be too many.
I have been playing poker for 4-5 months and I installed 7 rooms, tho I just play in about 4 regurarly.
I think it's important to read the room's promos before installing them. Sometimes they give big chances (tournaments) for big money for new depositiors. It's wise to wait for them.
Last mont Pokerstars had one.
