How to fix the BOVADA anonymous players problem.
I understand and agree with trying to limit the use of HUDs. I don't use them and consider it cheating.
But we do need to have an idea who we are playing. Playing the player is part ,a big part, of the game. You can sort of do that in a tourney where the numbers don't change every table. But in ring, unless you tag every player , one can change while you play a hand at another table and you won't even know it.
The solution, and I have emailed this to support, is very simple. Keep the number system but have unique avatars for each player.
When playing live we don't know the players names but we do know them buy appearance and dress and if we play them again a week later, we remember them and have a general idea how they play. This is fair, this is poker. It's a mind game played with cards.
Bovada has turned it into pure statistics. Play by the book, forget about bluffs, floating a player or anything psychological, it's useless.
What we need is a US game owned and run by players with minimal rake, enough to cover cost and take the casinos and online operators out of the equation all together. I think Congress would allow this faster then anything else.
This is a link to my take on poker skills.

I need to know who I'm playing. It's more fun and more profitable. Don't need a HUD, just a face or avatar will do. Can't remember hundreds, but if a guy or gal kicks my butt a few times, I will remember and will know to be more careful. and vis-versa.

p.s. pre Black Friday all the data mining sites had me listed as a fish, it made me read more and change my game, I hope we get real money online poker back soon, would like to see if this guppy has changed.
