How to control addiction in blackjack?

I recently created my ultimate bet account about 2 weeks ago. I itmed for cc cardschat freeroll for ultimate bet. using that $1.56, I joined 45 plyr $1.1 sng and won the whole thing, which boosted me to 18 bucks. But I fooled around and played blackjack. Gets quite addicting even though i know I'm losing money. Now, i'm trying to build it up. I'm down to 8 bucks and I'm trying to at least reach 11 so I can join this week's $5.5 ofc buy-in tournament.

Full Tilt and Pokerstars don't have blackjack, which is a very good thing for me. I wish I can disable the option of playing blackjack on ultimate bet. Does anyone have advice to avoid blackjack in ultimate bet?

Another side question. Can I transfer funds to someone else in ultimate bet like the way I can transfer funds on full tilt?

Hey Poker

Having fallen victim to the Blackjack lure on Ultimate Bet last year I understand what your talking about. It seems like a quick fix to doubling your bankroll, but in truth it will kill your roll quicker than you can imagine.

On your Lobby screen for Ultimate Bet there is a link for "my account"
click on that it is a drop down menu

4 tabs from the bottom is a "hide blackjack" tab
click it & click on the hide from lobby & tables tab

This will disable the blackjack links on your lobby screen

It's only good if you just forget about it once you disable it so I hope once you do you just forget it's there & play poker

Good luck

You can transfer funds player-to-player on Ultimatebet, but there is a catch.

AFTER the transfer, there still has to be $25 left in YOUR account.

So ... if you are thinking of transferring $5, you need $30 in your account to start the transfer.

I just went to their policy and read about it. They also said minimum of transfer is 10 bucks. So in order for me to transfer, I need 35 bucks. Very horrible and gay. I wanted to transfer 5.5 to my roommate so he can also enter ofc 5.5 buy-in and rep cardschat. I guess I'm the only one who can play and rep cardschat. No offense to people who mainly play at ultimate bet but I honestly think ultimate bet is horrible. Only reason why I play is because I won money on that site and I get to play without depositing anything.

I prefer Full Tilt over Ultimate Bet.

Just keep the mentality that you have little control in blackjack. Sure, you can hit, double, stay, surrender to increase your odds, but in the long run, you come up a loser. At least in poker, you have more control on your longrun profits, and there is more skill involved. Also, the more you play, the more you learn. Really, just keep in mind why you play poker. Is it just mostly for fun or the money? If it's more about the fun, then you're a gambler, and you shouldn't worry about controlling your blackjack addiction. If it's more about the money, then proper bankroll management in poker is your best bet. I guess there's also proper bankroll management in black jack, but that mainly determines how long you can play until you lose all your money, lol. Also, by playing too much blackjack, blackjack hands in texas holdem like K10, AJ, A9, A10, etc looks better than they really do. Then you get confused when the dealer never busts, lol.

I came back to this thread because of some replies but this is very true. My roommate plays blackjack on ultimate bet. He's good at it. I rolled my bankroll upto almost $500 using my roommate's version of martingale system and then lose it all because I literally lost 16 times in a row. My roommate who used to be a blackjack player before coming to the U.S, rolled his bankroll currently upto 400. After watching my martingale system fail, he adjusted his strategy by limiting when to stop and start over again. After watching him play, when I play poker, AJspades looks like nuts since it's BLACKJACK. After playing blackjack, I might end up calling people's all-in bet with AJ like I have nuts only to be faced by Big slick. LOL

Don't be fooled by your friends martingale system or his "modified" system. It has been proven that betting systems don't work!!!!!!! So don't try them!

P.S. Yes Ultimate Bet sucks.
