The home game I play in is very loose, and is there for fun, none of us believe we're any good because.. well.. we're not any good. That aside..

We play a wierd structure and are looking into changing it up. Our game is always atleast 6 people and never more than 9.
Our blinds are every 15 minutes and go like this
1st Level- $1/$2
2nd Level-$2/$4
3rd Level-$5/$10

And then continue to double the blinds every 15 minutes. This results in the game being all in or fold usually around the 80/160 or 160/320 mark as our starting chips are only..
15-$1
10-$5
10-$10
5-$20
2-$50
$365 in chips to start. (It started this way because we only had a small and quite cheap chip set, but not anymore)

What are some of the starting chip set ups and blind structures used in home games you participate in ?

At my home games, we start with 1500 in chips. We increase the blinds every 20-30 minutes.
Blind levels go something like this:
15/30
20/40
25/50
30/60
40/80
50/100
60/120
80/160
100/200
120/240
150/300
We do not normally go any higher than this, but there are some rare cases where that happens.

Does it usually just not get higher than that point or do you cap the blinds ? And just generally how long does a game take.. our little game we'll play 2-3 in a night. Thanks for replying

Our games take anywhere from 2.5-5 hours (mainly because there is beer/food break in the middle). The blinds do get higher, but capping them is fine, depending on stack sizes.

Your structure is actually not bad. Everyone starts with an M over 100 (very good) and typically a tourney should end when the bb is at or just below the starting stack size (just a general rule). Check out homepokertourney.com for everything you ever wanted to know about holding a home tournament.
