hold em vs. everything else i first learned to play poker in the form of 5 card draw, then graduated to stud and eventually (a year ago) got into hold em... I love hold em, and just kinda got introduced to omaha. I dont really know how to play omaha, and i especially dont know hi/lo. hold em seems easier to deal with for me. anyone have any thoughts or anything about omaha. i want to talk to real omaha lovers to see why the like it... peace- fooddood also want to hear from stud lovers and even yall who like pineapple and other variations... any and all feedback would be good Last edited by fooddood : 30th July 2005 at 9:44 AM. I never really got into stud poker, I always played 5 card draw as a kid with my dad and went straight from that to hold'em with about a 5 year gap in between.

re: hold em vs. everything else poker i first learn just the poker hands for which beats which when i was young with 5 card draw but really started playing poker with Hold'em. It's still my favorite, since i started off with it, omaha seems to me like a cheaper way to get better cards then hold'em hehe. 7-Stud is fun too, my favorite for bluffing.

I like to play a bit of Omaha, both high and split, stud occasionally, it's quite hard work though because you've got so many exposed cards to keep up with. It's a good idea to learn to play all forms of poker well, they'll all help your overall understanding of odds etc, and changing which game you're playing can be refreshing.
