Any Florida players near Boca? I'm heading there in October and wondered which rooms were preferred. I see there's a Hard Rock in Hollywood and The Isle near by as well.

Suggestions/reviews please!

I played at Miccosuke in Miami. It was horrible. Apparently in Florida they allow smoking in their card rooms, as well as allow spanish to be spoken. So between the smoke and people speaking two or even three languages at the table, I didn't have a good time.

In my opinion, The Isle is the nicest racetrack casino, but the upstairs cardroom wasn't open yet when I went a few months ago (it is now).
The HardRock in Hollywood used to have their poker tables in the middle of the casino with rope around it, but they just moved it to its own building next door to make room for the new blackjack tables.
Seminole's also have a Coconut Creek casino which is nearly as big, I believe. I haven't been there.
The Palm Beach Kennel Club has a smaller room but nice flatscreen monitors to update tournament blinds, players, etc as the game goes on.
Same poker rules but no casino there.

Hard Rock tournaments and sngs from ~100 to $1000 buyins. The tracks have sng and tourn from as low as $45 (higher % rake though).
1/2 limit games and 1/2 NLHE (100 max buyin) I think is the same at both.

...btw if you're going with family the HardRock hollywood has by far the most other things to do.

I live in Boca and the best poker room by far is the Isle of Capri in Pompano Beach. It is large, clean, friendly dealers, and best of all NO SMOKING. They have about 45 tables. They offer 1/2,and 2/4 Limit HE, 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NLHE, as well as Omaha HiLo Limit. MTTs, SNG's, and Bounty Tournaments. They are open 12-12 S-Th and 1-1 FS. Have Fun

I thought the law was 100 max buyin, they're up to 5/10 NLHE now? Thanks for the info tireman, I figured their cardroom would be nice.

Believe it or not it's 5/10 with a $100 max buyin. Just crazy AI when the table opens.

Any suggestions for the Jacksonville area?

I see 2 listed, St Johns Greyhound Park and Orange Park Kennel Club.
