Has anyone come up with a way AROUND site blocks to US Players I'm inclined to never play sites which are so *^%$# stooopid that they attempt to self evaluate foreign laws, such as the US FINANCIAL law, INCLUDE themselves into rstricted FINANCIAL corporate groups in FOREIGN LAWS, such as the US FINANCIAL corporate law, and reject UNAFFECTED PARTIES such as US INDIVIDUALS. I say let these F*cktards eat sh*t and die. AND lastly adjust their business in an UNAFFECTED location to exclude UNAFFECTED parties. I myself have enough trouble just keeping up with my own governments laws, much less adding other nations' laws to my obligation. But that is just me, since I have greater grasp of law than the average bear. More to the point. Has anyone in the US found a method of opening, loading, playing, and getting paid in sites which ostensibly DO NOT accept US players? In any such embargo, there are always smugglers, black markets, and other fixes which can be made. I, myself have tried to get a friend to ask an UK friend to open a site, just to see if I could fund it with a US IP add., or play it with a US IP. I often wonder, since I travel and play my own accts from destinations in the US, if a foreign player, visiting the US has full access to his stoopid mngmnt poker site? ANY ideas about any of these points?

I don't think the problem is asking about it..... I think the problem is getting your money if you win....OR not getting your account blocked if they realize you're a US citizen. There are at least 3 sites which are really easy to deposit money in for the US. Pokerstars, Full Tilt both accept echeck, and Playersonly accepts credit cards. To put money on a site that bans a certain country asks for certain banishment of said funds.

re: Has anyone come up with a way AROUND site blocks to US Players poker You can not get around it Mark. They track it by IP address. I opened an account at a site while I was in England but could not play on it once I returned to the US. And don't even bother with any of those IP address masking sites - they are not cheap and I doubt if they work. Even if they did you could never cash out so what is the point? Play at a site that accepts players from your country.

I've thought of this. There are still a couple of ways. 1 - get a calling plan where you can call Canada or Mexico for free. find an ISP in one of those countries. Using this Dialup ISP your IP address comes up as being from Canada or Mexico or whatever. Therefore you are NOT in the USA. The problem would be getting your check, since your address would have to be from the same country, so hopefully you know someone that can get you a mailing address. 2 - you can rent a server in another country, and then using Remote Desktop Utility you can use that server to play at your favorite site. The problem with this is that this would be laggy and slow, and you still have the mailing problem.

There are enough poker sites that do accept players from the US - what could possibly be the draw at a site that doesn't want US players? Why go thru the hassle... play someplace where US players are welcome

haha yea i doubt anyone in these forums associates with the black market. but if youre really trying to make this happen you need a way to withdraw so they dont know u live in the US. 2nd if you know any hackers or computer techs you should ask them about the ip code hack. My friend said its def. possible. good luck. it will prob cost you some money for the hack though

If you find a way to do this, I believe in the end you are setting yourself up to lose money that you deposited or that you may win. if you happen to win and try to withdraw this will be when they catch you. You will have no right to it because you used deceit to try and obtain the money.

Why even bother. Stick with the well known established sites like Poker Stars and FullTilt and you won't find yourself in any trouble like maybe trying to cash out if your fortunate to having a bankroll in the first place.

re: Has anyone come up with a way AROUND site blocks to US Players poker As others have asked, what would be the advantage of getting "around" the blocks when you can play at PokerStars or Full Tilt? What are you not getting that you want? To answer your question, you could do it but it wouldn't be free. Use a proxy connection from a foreign country (google VPN or SSH tunneling) and set up a foreign PO box that forwards your mail to the US (think Mailboxes Etc.). But again, why go through all the trouble? Last edited by ChurchSkiz : 3rd November 2008 at 5:23 PM.

I would guess that he's trying to get at the "greener pastures" of Titan Poker, Mansion Poker, and Party Poker. Many sites that rank the fishyness of poker sites have these 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.

| I thought Doyle's room allowed US players? Here is what I found from their chat support. I am in NJ too. you: Hello Peter are US players alllowed to play for money at Doyles room Peter: yes they are Peter: but not from new jersey you: ah ok you: cool you: just not NJ? Peter: 13 states have been banned you: ok thanks for the update. I know somene who says they made a deposit from NJ and then was not allowed to play. Why take the deposit if they arent allowed to play Peter: the IP addresses were blocked by micro gaming Peter: he can request a cashout you: ok thanks So it seems you can get your money back or wait till you are not in NJ playing. | I had enough trouble with Party Poker when it was legal for U.S. players. I can only imagine how hard it would be to get your $ out if it's not legal. I can't think of even one poker site that is that good that it would be worth the aggravation. On the other hand I understand why it would be satisfying to figure out how to get around the rules. Good Luck |

I am not sure I have properly understood your rant, but I gather you are complaining that some non-US sites have banned US players because of UIGEA ? All of the main ones which have done so (Titan, Party etc.) are in the UK or in UK jurisdiction. The UK authorities require that a trader shall not break the law either in the UK or in any major jurisdiction where he operates. Therefore, they have no choice in the matter and it is pointless to complain about them. Your complaint should be directed at those who caused the problem. I believe you will find them in Washington. |

What upsets me so much is that they KNEW they wouldn't allow me to play...so why did they take my deposit? Fraud. And Theft. Fraud for taking the money and theft for refusing me to use it after I made the deposit. by allowing me to make the deposit, they implied I was allowed to play and created a contract with me; which they breached. They should have/could have refused the deposit.

Why take the deposit if they arent allowed to play Peter: the IP addresses were blocked by micro gaming Was this account previously set up elsewhere? When you get back to LV (is that where you live?), you should be able to use it then. But the reason I ask is that 13 states is a lot of people. If someone LIVES in NJ, set up the acct there, and they accepted $$$, you'd have a lot of pissed off people if they had to go through process and possibly expense of getting their money back. I'd be surprised a class act like Doyle would allow this to go on for too long. From the above chat, it sounds like a software or server design oversight or glitch - meaning that IP addresses are not tagged/flagged/tracked in the deposit section from accounts that were set up in a 'legal' state? But perhaps always tracked in the games lobby? I could be completely wrong though. |

re: Has anyone come up with a way AROUND site blocks to US Players poker Are you saying if your a foreign player and you come to the US is there a way to get around the blocks? Because yes if you set up your account in another country you should be able to sign on from anywhere in the world as long as the account was not originally created in the US Kings

Many of the large poker sites are licensed in the United Kingdom, where gambling is legal and subject to official monitoring. United Kingdom law forbids corporations from trading illegally in foreign markets. This is really intended to stop people from (for example) selling drugs in Australia from an office in London in order to avoid the Australian authorities. However, in this instance, it means that the legal and licensed poker rooms of the UK cannot accept customers from the US unless they wish to have the authorities of both countries on their case. Lucky for me I was only renting in LKas VEgas and had not yet gotten my NV license (Doyle's doesn't allow NV players to play (yet, Doyle, Todd, Pam and Hoyt live there and surely play from home in thier bounties.... One customer rep said give them 72 hrs to unblock my IP, and another said wait till I get home. Yeah, I'm going home in the spring, lol. Quote:

re: Has anyone come up with a way AROUND site blocks to US Players poker I might have realized there is a way around the 13 states ban on sites like Doyle's Room...unfortunately it doesn't help me. When Dad was alive, I opened an acct with the site GoToMyPC.com So I could remote access Dad's computer and help him FROM FLA. His computer had to be on, of course and I set it up for him when I was home (at his house). If someone in the 13 banned states can remotely access someone else's computer in a state that hasn't been banned, the IP address would be the IP of the 'other' person's computer. Of course that would require a lot of trust, allowing someone to remote access their computer...but if it was a family member...then maybe they wouldn't mind. Do you think it would be a viable 'Get Around' the 13 states ban? If so I'm sure there are other remote access type of companies like the one I used for Dad.

The United States are the ones responsible for the sites being blocked from the US. Theres alot of reasons for this: 1st: alot of money was being spent by US citizens, in other countries, through poker sites, they did not like that. Now its less of a problem since they have marketed tilt. 2nd: It is really hard to control money on poker sites, let me give you a irl example. I am a con man, I decide to sell fake "lists" of cheap laptops (50$'s or less on ebay), turns out to be a scam. The person paid me on my paypal account 200$ (wich only required an AOL subscription (a while back) --> wich was done with a bogus name and adress, attached to a bogus name that never paid his first month) OR simply connected to a foreign credit card. I put my money on my account, I transfer it to a friend through heads up, and the money is gone, prety much impossible to trace from there, the friend plays with another friend and with another and it is withdrawed, at some point, by some one, that might or might not have something to do with the scam in the first place. turns out to be really costy to trace 200$, or even 10 000$. Or you could just cash in for drug transactions, and your money is laundered like that. When the US wants to have information from a foreign poker site, it is much harder than from lets say Canada or the US itself. |

I would honestly say just stick to sites that allow US players. It's so much of a hassle to go third party poker sometimes, plus you usually end up paying some time of "transfer fee" just to get your money where you want it. I've been using Bodog with my CC for over a year now and no problem. Only thing I had to do was send a confirmation fax with my info which took all of a day for them to confirm and I was able to get a payout.

Ok dont want to add confusion and I certainly wouldn't encourage breaking the law anywhere but about 2 months ago I was in the US on business for 2 weeks. I took my UK laptop with me and played in the Saturday night Titan game whilst using my hotels wifi I play most of my poker on Stars and Tilt these days and the only time I use Titan is for this one Tournament which I always try to play as it is my personal favourite As a UK player the thought of the no US players allowed never entered my head I logged in and played with no problems at all

re: Has anyone come up with a way AROUND site blocks to US Players poker did you access it via the your companies VPN?? I from UK too so dont know the ins and outs of whats going on with poker in the US but id assued that there was simply a ban placed on US IP addresses.. if you connected via your companies VPN then the front facing IP would be a UK one. Just a thought!!
