i cashed out once via cheque on pokerstars, but here (argentina) it took me more than 2 months to receive the money and also they charged almost 6%.
so that system is not good for me, i was happy with Moneygram, but they dont use it anymore i hope they come back soon.

I don't know the laws where you are but why tell them anything except Mind your own business.

Indeed

FWIW, I know Australians who've received checks from a few grand and have been asked about them (forget if it was by the bank or Customs). They told them it was from online poker and I don't believe they had any problems

I've only cashed checks from Pokerstars, less than a week...but it wasn't recently. I wondered (but didn't complain) why there wasn't a minimal $1 or less fee for postage...just signed up at UltimateBet and I'm reading about depositing/withdrawing. They want $8 to send out a check by regular mail.

Poker Stars is usually within 10 business days. No problem cashing 2K cheques anywhere. Your hesitations will make you a losing player. Have faith or don't play. Save your money.

99% of banks will hold any checks over a certain amount unless you have the funds in your own account to cover it? Why?? I don't know, I think its stupid for the fact that if it were to bounce, its not your problem.... Anyway, I would have told them from a job that I did and I got paid for, if they asked what kind I would have told them its none of their business, and if they kept asking I would have just told them I was a porn star and this was my payment... That would have shut them up.
