I would be happy with QQ's but AK has helped me in the past beating a low pair on all-ins. But the last tourney I saw Phil "cry baby" Helmuth he went all in on AK and lost to a suited KJh when the jack made its pair on the river. I've lost with AA's many times as well. Sometimes you almost have to treat them all the same if you know what I mean. Depends on how many players are still in the pot and so on.

Are you calling or pushing? LOL,I don't think it matters here. I have to say QQ since it is a made hand. No matter what, you still need help to win with AK suited to win. Dramatic effect, which is worse? Praying that you spike the A or K or sitting there sweating it out for a bunch of low cards.

I agree about what to go all in with i like QQ hate JJ and strangly AA, I have had people calling the AI with crazy hands. 3-4 off seems to do quite well normally when I have AA, guess its like the man said any two cards can win and if you get an idiot at the table they will call with anything.

While I voted for QQ, my actual answer would be neither. The allin play has a place, but is so overused. Mike Caro did a massive amopunt of work on this issue - the result - not surprisingly is that the allin move loses almost as much as it wins. A QQ vs AK is a coin flip - why play for an hour then risk everything on the flop of the cards. Raise enough to hopefully drive out the junk and play from the flop. The time to go allin with these hands is when you are short stacked and are forces to gamble.

Nice point jsaw but in tournament play, eventually you have to either call an all-in or go all-in at one point. In a tournament it is the biggest weapon you have. You never know what someone has when they do it and it is alway difficult to call one. Most all-ins are either #1 pocket pair vs two overs (coin flip) or #2 A10 vs KK QQ etc., then it is about 60/40. On occassion you see two sets of pocket pairs and then if you are on the low end, well good luck then. Hopefully in a ring game those words never leave your mouth.
