I visit the one in Manchester (or Salford) fairly regularly. The place is quite nice and modern. The casino itself isn't huge. It has a decent amount of slot machines, probably 50-80. There are a few blackjack tables, some poker tables and roulette. They hold regular poker tournaments, pretty much every night I think - ranging from £5 buyin to £25 rebuys. There is usually a real good turnout to these, and the place can get very busy.
I usually just play blackjack when I go, and my friends hit up the roulette tables. We've all had some great wins there and generally enjoy going once every few weeks for a bit of fun. Oh and they offer free food and drink if you're sitting at a table. |

I went to the one in Newcastle with some friends, pretty much same as the ones anywhere else nothing really special. Tried the roulette and carribean stud (yeah i know, sucker!) but anyway i was bored and im not much for blackjack and slots. Had a good time and some good laughs tho, and won a little playing the electronic roulette. I miss the place (England, not the casino)

Yeh I need to visit the one on Salford. I go to Salford uni so I might just talk a trip there. A couple of my friends have been there and say it's better than the one in Bolton so it should be good.
Hey Nick ever been to main one in London |

Yeh the GUKPT. I played in one of the smaller events at the Bolton Grosvenour casino. Leg 1. I was on the final table with Lawrence Gosney (WSOP Bracelet holder) and finished above him. £250 buy in and I took home £1290. Great for the casino for people like him to play. Even better for an Eastenders star to win it and promote poker.

Some places will accept Euros for the benefit of foreign tourists, but the Pound is very definitely still the UK currency.
The majority of British people think of themselves as British first and European a very distant second. Some politicians have suggested that we should adopt the Euro, but the idea is unpopular. Don`t suggest it in any of the more "colourful" British pubs, unless you like having chairs thrown at you. ![]() |
