| Greg Raymer out as pokerstars pro Apparently "fossilman" Greg Raymer is no longer a pokerstars sponsored pro. http://www.pokerjunkie.com/poker-blo...pokerstars-pro I think thats a bad move by stars. Greg is a great ambassador for the game and in particular, has been one of the most articulate and credible voices in the fight to fully legalize online poker in the US. It sounds like pokerstars is cutting back on their sponsorships but playing hardball with Greg was a bad place to start imo. |

| From reading a few different sources I don't think it's as clear cut as Stars unceremoniously booting him. Most of the stories are suggesting that Stars are reducing the amount they pay to many of their sponsored players and that when it came time Raymer decided not to renew his contract instead of re-signing for the lower amount. That's business and it leaves him free to pursue other opportunities. |

Thus, it could be any things why one and most obvious is a pay cut or not full filling his contract agreement. I didn't really see him playing all that much. It's the same with Boku87, obvviousy he wasn't as well known as Greg but he seemed to of just vanished from the pokerstars felt which I'm guessing was due to his activity. |

| I definitely feel like it's a bad move. I understand that poker has been having some issues lately in the U.S., but threatening your sponsored pros is not a good way to keep them happy or loyal. I think this is a bad move on the part of Pokerstars, especially since Raymer is one of the few pros from the poker boom to have some large consistent cashes. |

As has been mentioned above, the signs at this stage point to it being a joint decision to part ways. Aside from that it's their customers that Stars wants to keep happy and loyal, not their sponsored pros. The sad but true fact is that Greg Raymer no longer being a sponsored pro probably won't have much impact on the site's customer base, especially in growing markets like Asia. |

I'm sure he'll turn up with another sponsorship tomorrow (if he wants it). |

| re: Greg Raymer out as pokerstars pro Quick update: it's been a bit over a month since he left Stars and now Greg Raymer is appearing in public wearing a Full Tilt logo: http://twitpic.com/45w89j Apparently it's just for the NBC heads up tournament at this stage. |
