I used to rail Nergeanu the first couple weeks he was playing on PokerStars. People would say, "My friend just transfered you $.02" and Negreanu would respond, "Tell him thanks." I think the most anybody gave him was $2. It was quite common. I don't know why they did it though.

He had a small bankroll at first, built it up, then blew most of it. I think the free $ kept him afloat until he made a hefty deposit (or PokerStars paid him) and he started playing for big money.

There's no way to make a personal reply back to a money transfer, is there?

Whats up with that

The poker pros are able to make good enough money to be poker pros why give them money. You could play in a 10 cent game and win 50 dollars or more so why would you give that away.....
If there is a reason other than being nice let me know I just don't get it

Yes, but when someone transfers you money on Stars you do get an e-mail from Stars support showing the transfer.

Daniel talked about it on the PokerCast, how people were always sending him 5 or 10 cents. I doubt you will get an answer from any of them, because people do this sort of thing all the time...

This is the kind of reason that causes rules to get changed. Stars has been courteous enough to allow any amount of transfer to all it's members, but sites like FT have minimums. Guess there's a reason for minimums afterall.

Stars, like any other poker site, is a business. I can see posting jokes, etc, on a forum such as this. CC and other forums are the place for socializing. Stars is a place for playing poker. Have looked through their main lobby numerous times and have never found a tab labelled 'fun zone'.

There's at least one reply here that indicated they would be doing the same thing. How fast would you change your policies when a department manager at YOUR business reported needing 10 more PAID employees to handle the 02c to 10c transfer requests to 30 pros from 10,000 (or more) members, all of which have to be approved and generated manually?

Try playing practical jokes in a live poker room and see how quickly the pit boss and security invite you to leave. This idea is somewhere WAY below the 'where's da pazwurd' posts in quality.

Come on man, enjoy this joke for what it is, a joke. Let's not shed any tears for dear old PokerStars and their employment department on the Isle of Man. You realize that PokerStars is a billion dollar privately held company right? 10c transfers to pros really is not going to hurt them in anyway.

I'm confident that K-Dog is not going to graduate to pulling practical jokes in a live room. Besides, to me this is no more than the equivalent of sending a drink to someone accross the room.

Four days later, and not a single transfer back from any of the pro's, Im shocked, to say the least, money-grabbing f**kers, lol.
Oh well, back to asking for passwords on here, I guess, eh, nevadanick!

It actually happened when Daniel was commentating on the final table of the Pokerstars WCCOP last September I think. I was listening to his online radio commentary, it was really funny, he couldn't believe all these 2+2 posters were sending him like 5c + 10c.
