Fulltilt note question for computer techies
Hi,
I just purchased a new computer and downloaded Fulltilt onto it. I have very extensive player notes on thousands of players on Fulltilt on my older computer. QUESTION: is there a way I can copy my notes (transfer??) from my old computer over to my new one? Please try to explain in step-by-step layman's terms. I'm a bit of an old fart and don't have much computer knowledge. thanks in advance (will trade poker knowledge for computer knowledge if interested) ![]() |

OK, the notes for players are saved in a file in the Full Tilt program directory called username.xml . The default place for this to be would be, C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker and for me the file is C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\suit2please.xml
You can copy this file over to the new computer and put it in the same directory as Full Tilt is. You might want to first rename the new username.xml but it shouldnt really make a difference if you just overwrite that with the file from the old computer. I would make sure to do all this while the Full Tilt program is not running. Also, overwriting will get rid of any new notes you may have and replace them with the old ones. It seems like you could merge the two files carefully in an editor if need be. |

Make sure full tilt is closed.
Step 1: Locate the full tilt program directory (C:\program files\full tilt poker) Step 2: Locate your username.xml (C:\program files\full tilt poker\suit2please.xml) Step 3: If you have a thumb drive you can copy this file over to it. If not you can also email it to yourself by attaching the username.xml to an email addressed to yourself. Step 4: On the new computer either connect the thumb drive or go to your email account. Step 5: Copy the username.xml from the thumb drive to C:\program files\full tilt poker or save it from your email to C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker Step 6: It may ask if you want to overwrite the file that is already there or it might not (I don't know if the file will be there if you haven't made any notes yet). That should be it. Start full tilt and find someone on there that you know you have notes on and see if it worked. |

re: Fulltilt note question for computer techies poker
Great t
Thanks alot!! I'm going to give this a go right now. I'm wondering if I'm going to run into a compatibility problem with older puter running on WinXP and new one is Vista??? I guess I'll find out shortly, lol. So I checked the size of the file for my player notes.... it's 5,050 KB (i'm thinking that's alot??? if i only knew what a KB was.... how many words would that be, lol). Thanks for the help! |

Yea shouldnt be an issue between XP and Vista the full tilt software is still the same, if you had switched to a Mac that mightve been a problem. 5,050 KB is about 5 megabytes which might give you trouble if you had to email it to yourself.
