Full Tilt : Why is this the case ???

The actual rules of poker (live or otherwise) state that mucked cards can be requested to be shown by anyone involved in play (players or staff) for any reason. The main purpose of the rule is to prevent cheating. But in live play, people rarely invoke the rule since it is considered insulting due to the nature of the rule (cheating investigation).

So when online poker sites allow the viewing of mucked cards, A) they are actually following the rules of poker, and B) they show that their site is legit since all cards that were dealt can be inspected.

So in short: It's for your safety and mine.

Then what's the point of being able to muck them at the table? I suppose to maintain the integrity/respect/flavor of usual game play, or something to that effect?

BTW, I cannot swear to this, but there is one site I noticed that the cards were mucked even in the hand history. I know it's not UB. Tend to think it's Bodog. Can anyone confirm? Would that be some breach of something?

I didnt realise that you could inspect the mucked hands on full tilt thats great news and should help my play to because one could inspect every hand and learn about the other players

This thread really makes a case for learning the mechanics of each site you play. I usually do it via free chip play.

Of the several sites I play, a hand taken to showdown is visible via HH's at all but one site. It may be bodog, but I am not sure. And since bodog doesn't send me HH's I can not check.

Thats Right Dj, I too think it is Bodog that dosen't have it. At Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet, all you need to do is press the replay button and all is revealed.

I wouldn't worry too much about that, most people don't bother looking at past history to begin with. They don't take notes on other players, etc. They just play the hand, when it's over, move on to the next one.

You might be missing out on a valuable tool, not to mention free, a way to get a read on your opponents. It's not like you have to go into 'program files' and find it. It's a simple 1-click, and you see what someone was calling/raising with. I've noticed a lot here take notes. I don't too often, but certainly want to make at least mental notes while I'm at the same table.

You have to understand that not everyone plays poker the way you do. Most of the people you run into could careless about previous hands.....which I think is great!!!! The bigger the ignorance the higher the profitability! Next time you are at the tables, ask how many view previous hands or take notes. You might get one or maybe two maximum.

Right!! But ignorance on their part, not on yours/mine. Not sure you're saying whether you look or not. If you do look at HH, I totally misunderstood. But just because they might not (and who really knows), doesn't mean that I won't if the info is right there a click away.

So how it`s done? You go to HH at table and mucked hands are reveiled?
When I check HH in Holdem Manager there are no reveiled hands after mucked.
So it can only being done actually sitting at the table? Or afterwards?

It only shows mucked hands at showdown, not folded hands. Since showdown doesn't happen all too often, you won't find a huge wealth of info from seeing the mucked hands.

But I don't really have a problem with it. They still beat you, and they did it without position!

Where do you get your info to be so sure, BTW I think you are wrong here you would be surprised how many ppl do it, from what I have seen it would be the poker players that do and the donkeys that dont. (BTW I am not calling you personally a donkey)

It is only hands that go to showdown that has the mucked cards revealed, all you do is, if you are at Poker Stars or Ultimate Bet is hit the replay button once the next hand has started. I like letting them know what a cock up they made by chasing with whatever they had or thing to that effect, it helps themon their way to tilting, sometimes when you are up against someone that dosen't know about this, they think how the hell does this guy know this, that too distracts them from their game.

This is only partly true, while all hand don't go to show down you learn a ton of information from the cards people muck, what cards are they raising (KQo for example) what cards do they call raises with, how big of hand do they need to call a river bet, etc. It is very useful

I am really not understanding the "safety issue" here to mucking cards. If i muck my cards at showdown, how does that hurt or cheat the opponent? I muck I adhere to defeat, don't I ? Especially online, how would one get cheated or hurt there. If I much my cards at showdown and realized I have winning hand, that means my muck is negated once I show my cards after the card? Doesn't really make sense to me there.

If no one could see the mucked cards, the website could give everyone 72 and no one would know. Showing mucked cards in the Hand History is how poker sites show they are legit. It has nothing to do with your play or your intentions.

Even in live play, requesting to see mucked cards is how someone can examine the cards for duplicates, marks, etc. Besides, IT'S IN THE RULES OF POKER! There is really nothing more to "understand" than that. A rule is a rule.

They are obliged too, if not how can we really know which player win the hand ? This is for the security of everybody dude

If you haven't been checking HHs then you should start. It's a good way to get a feel for your opp.
