Full Tilt Poker - Security Tokens

Just a friendly reminder about using a Security Token - do it. It makes your account hack proof (that is, unless someone knew your password AND stole your security token).

Tokens for both branded and unbranded are available in the FTP store as well as the iron man store.

The one thing I really love about the Full Tilt Poker edition is that you can use multiple security tokens for one account. For example I ordered one of the tokens (took 2 weeks to deliver to California) and then ordered the mobile phone app (iPhone). I have both linked to my account, thus, when I am on the road I dont have to take the token. Fun!

Anyways, dont get hacked, use a token. It's a wise use of your points.

How exactly do they work?

You log in with your username and password, then it asks you for your secure ID. You press a button on the key and it generates a 6 digit number. Type that in and you're logged in. The number is unique for each fob and changes every 60 seconds.

Any moron can hack my account and please when ur finished deposit,, some money. sounds like a cood idea, when i have money to protect i will get a token.

I like the idea however wish that the iphone app was free :/ (understandable to use FTP for the physical token) as I dont have enough FTP to purchase it (nor am I currently playing there). But when I do return and get enough FTP points, it will be my first purchase.

I think it is a good thing. I have one given by a bank for an account i've oppened.

umm, I'm a little puzzled...shouldn't all accounts be originally hack-proof? or does full tilt only protect the people who pay some ftp for their protection? It sounds a bit like the mafia style ...

Different lvls of protection , different prices like in real life They cannot protect you from trojans for example. And password steeling is not something uncommon. So u can protect yourself even if someone steel your password. The Only thing i do not think you can protect from is someone playing from your account. Any ammount of money u have can be lost at high stackes in 5 minutes.

Why would you get both? why not just use the iphone app all the time? Is it in case you loose one? Don't they had a quick workaround if you lost it?

Also at what level or should I say dollar amount do you think warrants a token?

You are living in a serious world of denial if you think that just your password is sufficient protection for any account you have. A virus, trojan or keylogger will learn your password, send it off to someone who will be happy to take your accounts over and drain you of your funds. If you don't believe me look at the 1935 threads from people it's happened to over at TwoPlusTwo.

I got both so that i can keep my token at my desk at home and for everywhere else I have my iPhone. If I lose one though I can always use the other or if one dies I have a backup and am not locked out of my account. Makes sense right? Right.

You should get one for any account you have where the dollar amount is one where you would feel horrible if it magically disappeared.

This is one of the reasons I do not give people my screenname, security reasons. At the moment, I cannot get a security token because of where I live but I am going to get that sorted out pretty soon.

Good call marginal. Also the main sites like Stars, FTP, UB and AP all allow the use of a PIN code, which you can activate for free. Just make sure that the PIN code isn't in your email account because if that gets hacked the hacker will get your password and PIN.

Yea, I organised that from the start. With money on the line you have to take it very seriously.

Every one should def turn on the PIN feture. It doesnt hack proof your acount but it makes it alot harder for keyloggers!

after reading this i think it would be a good idea to get a token but ill have to earn more ftp b4 i can do this
