Full Tilt Poker Avatars

I just noticed that full tilt poker has added some new avatars. These avatars include a penguin, a wizard, a police officer, a panda, a leprechaun, some james bond looking guy, and a guy wearing a rugby striped shirt with a broken nose. I guess this is what the 5 hours of maintenance were for.

I don't know if anyone noticed but they also added this slide bar that is pretty handy for making bets. Not sure why they closed down the site so long for that crap, but hey, i guess that's part of playing online right. Hence the reason i have a PS and FTP account. to keep myself busy.

I was on late last night when they announced that they would be doing routine maintenece for 5 hrs so I am sure they did more work to the sight than avatars and the new slide thingy??

The avatars are sublime! I mostly pick a woman because I think manly players think of women as lesser players. So it's a psychological thing. I also use the avatars in another way.. When I do a crazy raise (too high, for example, because I 've got too good a pair of cards) I throw in a smile or a surprised face (on Full Tilt).. I think it helps in the mental-victory. It works most of the times. Try it..

I think that it's avatars are a clear waste of time. The only think that they serve for is distracting you so i removed them totally.......

stock avatars are dumb, boring and predictable. ever played a table with 4 penguins and 3 mike tysons on FTP? zzzzzz...lol

FTP must allow players to upload their own avatar pic, like on PS.

FTP must allow players to upload their own avatar pic, like on PokerStars.

FTP has an option where you can have your personalised Avatar. It only costs 1 million FTP-points.
I've never seen one.. Anyone else who saw one? I wonder what they look like.

re: Full Tilt Poker Avatars

I personally think these avatars and random upgrades that we have to download, is making the sever so slow, what i mean is that, i was watching friend play the ftops yesterday, with about 5000+ entrants (full tilt cant handle) laggout for another 45 min cause he cant load the screen and yeah, got k0 about 5 min after the lag mayhem was done, if the full tilt is gonna add more stuff to their software, you mind as well make more space for it, instead of try to fill up the capacity.

All they need to do is stop making us load the lobby with each tournament.

....or, if they made so's we had a choice to load all the names, like PS. That's where all the weight is.

In ALL THOSE FRIGGEN NAMES. GOT IT FULL TILT?

dont get me started on FTP's server lag issue...one of the few keys reasons why i dont play there anymore...

all the money wasted on the schmo 'pros' salaries would be better spent on upgrading the server banks...

That's right. I thought it was just me that's so slow on Full Tilt, but apparantly it's everyone. I keep disconnecting constantly as well, but I thought it was me again.

I'm pretty happy with the "close tourney completely" function. But it's small change.

I'll have to stick with the surfer. I am from Huntington Beach, and do surf, but I think it's cool that they out a few new ones in there, I like the James Bond one. That fits, especially after the movie Casino Royale. That was a cool hold 'em sequence. YouTube - James Bond is all-in (last poker hand in Casino Royale)

Me too, I held off joining FullTilt for a year because I couldn't stomach having to choose one of these hideous things. I finally joined and the site is pretty nice, still hate the avatars. I wouldn't care if it was optional, I'd just turn them off, but why do I have to choose one?

For some strange reason the avatars make me form personalities for the players even without noticing how they play...aggressive, passive, whatever. I just turn them off; it helps my game. Try it. I'm a rooster though. Gotta love the cock.
