FULL TILT DOWN?

I was just railing the 55K guarantee and EVERYBODY in the entire tournament was sitting out it was so bizarre. Everybody kept quickly folding to the big blind over and over again.

Thinking it could just be my connection or something bizarre like that i quit full tilt, and tried to sign back in.

It didn't let me and says it is unable to connect to the server.

anybody experiencing similar problems?

It has to be a problem with the full tilt server because pokerstars and my internet connection is working just fine. I wonder what they will do with the players in the big tournaments.

I envision many unhappy card-players. I was very lucky to not be playing in an sng or mtt i guess.

I live on the west coast of the United States, and it is not working here.

Sigh... I just got done data mining some $10 and $25 ring games and the site goes down. And I was going to sit with Ninelions because the guy to his left was a loose donk. Oh well, on to PokerStars.

This has happened before, and I think it depends on how deep you are into the tournament. If half the field is eliminated then I don't think they would just give the buy in back. Probably they would either give twice the buy in back equally, or more likely weigh how they give the money back so the chip leaders would get more than the short stacks.

I am sure you could find a definate answer on full tilt's website though, or by emailing them at support@fulltiltpoker.com

I am certain you won't lose your buy-in though

Occasionally, due to technical difficulties, a tournament may be cancelled. Depending on the tournament's status at the time of this cancellation, Full Tilt Poker will do the following:

* 31.1. If a tournament is voided before it starts - Players will have their buy-ins and fees returned in the same currency they used to enter the tournament (real money, tokens, etc.), unless they entered the tournament through a satellite, in which case they will be refunded the standard buy-in for the tournament.
* 31.2. If the tournament had not yet reached the money - All players still in the tournament at the time of the cancellation will be refunded their tournament buy-in and tournament fee. Players will have their buy-ins refunded in the same currency they used to enter the tournament (real money, tokens, etc.), unless they earned their entry through a satellite, in which case, they will be refunded the standard buy-in for the tournament. In addition, the buy-ins of players already eliminated from the tournament will be divided up and distributed to the remaining players, based on their chip counts. Guarantees and money added to the prize pool will not be included in the player payouts.
* 31.3. If the tournament had reached the money - All players still in the tournament at the time of the cancellation will be awarded with the next guaranteed payout. In addition, the remaining prize pool will be distributed amongst the surviving players based on their chip counts.
* 31.4. In a Rebuy tournament - the number of rebuys or add-ons a player has made does not affect the payout if a tournament is cancelled. If a tournament has not reached the money, all players will have their initial tournament buy-in and fee returned, as described in bullet 31.2. In addition, any other money in the prize pool (excluding guarantees and money added by Full Tilt Poker) will be divided and distributed to the remaining players, based on their respective chip counts. If a tournament has reached the money, payouts will be handled as described in bullet 31.3.
* 31.5. If a tournament awards a non-monetary prize, such as a World Series of Poker prize package, Full Tilt Poker will assign a monetary value to the prize, and distribute the cash value to the remaining players, based on their chip counts. If all remaining players have each won the first-place prize at the time of cancellation (e.g., the remaining players have each already secured a WSOP prize package), they will each keep their prizes.

How long does it usually take them to get up and running again? How often does this happen with them?

I do not know how long it usually takes them to get the servers back up, but I would think that the time differs based on what the problem is.

It doesn't happen often at all though, I have only heard of it happening twice before and I have been playing on the site frequently for a couple of years.

I was getting ready to go look for a tournament.

Well unforutanly karlm they probably won't do anything for a freeroll?? I'm not sure tough. Maybe since there was only 40 people left they will distribute between them? Or it will restart after the connection is back up.

I was in an 18 player SNG - down to 6 players (money starts at 4) with AA. Tried to bet it and lost the connection. What a bummer!

I've been pretty patient with Full Tilt, but this seems to happen way too often. I wish they would get their server issues resolved.

That happened to me once. $2 showed up in my bankroll a couple of days later along with an apology email.

Usually an outage of this scale is a network issue on their WAN carrier.

I have been in tourneys before when it all froze it seems to be after an update which I had yesterday when I signed in, but I checked this morning and I did get my money back plus some but it said the tourney was voided so they must have some kind of system to pay people back.

I can recall it happening about 3 times in 3 years (maybe more that i am unaware of) but as i see it, that is very good for a system that has to run 24/7 with a massive load of data being transferred every second

I agree, and will put up with it because most of the time the site runs flawlessly! 50,000+ players on that site most of the time, and it still runs well. Plus the 2K I've won off the site will also shut me up

Random: Oh boy, Layne Flack runs SOOOOOO bad! I was just watching the 2005 NLHE short handed event where scotty, doyle, minh, and him all final tabled.

nope, he didn't have a deep run in this years ME.

Picture Huck Seed, but a little different and thats Layne.

He has like 5 bracelets and is a pretty good player. Lately he has pretty much disappeared from the poker scene, and is not nearly as popular as he was a couple years back.
