Full Tilt!? Ok I've been getting real frusterated lately. I don't know what it is but it seems in freerolls as many of you know I do fine.. But as soon as I put up some of my money FT seems to not give me any cards but garbage.. Then I switch back and play a freeroll even the very next tourney and I'm catching cards again. Last night I sat for hours upon hours playing buy in tourneys and cash games not catching any thing then I play a freeroll and all of a sudden by some merical I'm catching cards again.. I don't know why or if it's normal or what? And no I'm not saying it's has to be rigged just wanted to put it out there and see if it's just me or if it's normal thing or what it is.. I just don't understand how I catch cards in freerolls but as soon as I put up my own money FT don't give me any thing to play. Any feedback, support, and or info is welcome.

Two options spring to mind: 1) It's just you or typical variance. One of those days so to speak. 2) Full Tilt are deliberately conspiring against you and encouraging you to play freerolls from which they get no rake from you. So which one do you think?

Oh come on I was just looking for info and feedback and/or maybe even some pointers. I even stated I wasn't saying FT was rigged or conspiring against me. I haven't played too very much actual cash on FT so I don't know too much about it.. But answer to your question is oviously #1 and even more so when you put it that way.. Now can I get any helpfull info on this??

There is no real helpful info I can give. If you are not saying it's rigged then what are you saying?? If you really think there is something in this then go through your HH over a decent sample size and judge the proportion of premium hands you get in Freerolls compared to times when you put money in. My guess is if you do then it will fall within normal statistical variation. I'd be interested in the results either way.

Also, poker has built-in variance. Cards don't come spread out evenly. Sometimes you go a long time without anything good, but then you may get a bunch of great hands in a row. There's bad runs & good runs. You just have to ride them out. There is NO difference between freerolls and buy-ins. It just SEEMS that way. The best way to be able to see what is happening is to look at your tracker stats (HEM or PT3). If you don't have one, get one. Then you can really see exactly how often you are getting good cards. The more hands you play, the more the numbers will even out. GL |

Maybe you are just playing scared in the real money games because there is actual money on the line, and when you are playing in the freerolls you aren't to worried because you know you won't lose anything. Other than that it's just variance or selective recollection. You probably are just having a bad run when you were playing for cash... how big is your sample size? just the one day of a bad run in real money games? because you can't expect to win every session.. or is this over hundreds of thousands of hands?

I was trying to say the same thing - apologies it it came out slightly wrong and cynical..... Even on the sample size you do have check out the proportions of premium hands and see if it is comparable. Last night on the CC freeroll I had a number of premium hands in a row and worked all of them as the flops came the right way and people decided to go in against me. Then later in the same freeroll I had AT, JJ, QQ on successive hands and didn't win one of them. It's just variance...

Ok cool no problem I did decide to switch things up a bit though and now playing a bit more agressive and loosened just a tad instead of waiting for premium hands to play.. It seems to be working a bit but still have more sampling to do to see exacly how effective it is for me..

re: Poker & Full Tilt!? I can tell as for my example and the example of friends, that with a paid entry to play even better, 'cause all players are afraid to dash out and not so much at risk. Maybe your problem is temporary, i've heard such happens on FTP or psychological. Anyway good luck!!!

I think your having a great pace in your games right now. It is indeed better to take one step at a time. You can always go back in playing freerolls for in my opinion, you can be more confident by gaining lots of experience and taking levels in a gradual manner.
