Cashout Tournaments - A totally new type of tournament. If you've ever heard someone say "I wish I could just take these tournament chips and cash out right now," well, now they can. Part (usually half) of your buyin goes to the regular prize pool, but the rest goes to a "Cashout Pool" which gets depleted as people "cash out" of the tournament.
By way of example: Say the buyin is $20 and you start with 1,000 chips. If $10 of the buyin goes to the Cashout Pool, each 100 chips will be worth $1 of the Cashout Pool. At any time throughout the tournament (except the very beginning while people are still registering and the very end) you can cash out part or all of your tournament chips for cash. More info (to be posted in the next couple of minutes) can be found here: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/cashout-tournaments They also added: Run It Twice - Most of you already know what this is from live cash games (or TV), but briefly: If there are two players in the hand and there's an all-in and call before the river, and both players have decided to run it twice (there’s a new checkbox in the "permanent checkbox" area of the table), any board cards left to come will be dealt twice, resulting in two boards. Half the pot will go to the winner of the first board and half the pot will go to the winner of the second board. For now, only NLH, PLO, and HA games in Ivey's Room have Run It Twice enabled. We will likely enable RIT for lower stakes games in the coming weeks. More info (to be posted in the next couple of minutes) can be found here: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/run-it-twice 7-Game Tournaments - By popular demand. And yes, as many people guessed, FTOPS Event #2 is 7-Game. |

I love the idea. I usually bounce in a MTT from average stack to heavy stack a couple of time in the coarse of a tourney. If given the opportunity to redeem my buy in when heavy, I would jump at the chance as long as its in the 10% or so stack range.

If you're doing well, then you're likely to go deep so if you cash out then you miss out??
Still I suppose normal 'prizepool' will be less so not as much point playing on.. If you're were in 6th with 50 left out of say 300 and the first 5 decide to take the cash then you'd be laughing!! (and pretty dumb to cash out?) Cant work out if I think it's a good idea or not! The run it twice option just encourages idiots to call allins with small pairs/ suited connectors so think that's just a plain dumb idea |

re: FTP: Cashout tournament? what the? poker
Sounds interesting. There are times when I'm getting tired that the cashout would be nice. As far as the "Deal it twice", I assume the 1st deal board cards are put back in the deck for the 2nd deal? So there can be duplicate cards on the two deals?

Since this is uncharted waters on strategy since they are new, i'd like to hear ideas and opinions on when its good to take some profit during these.
Like I'm around 35th in chips at th bubble(108left), and unsure whether to cashout a little or just play on. |

going to be difficult to judge as the prize structure constantly changing with players cashing out.
If you are a massive chipleader probably wise to cash out your chips, the name of the tournament is cashout so will be a novelty and alot will cashout before the end ![]() |

re: FTP: Cashout tournament? what the? poker
probably best thing to do is watch a few games from middle to end where they can take out money and try to calcualte how much is being taken out.
total players * starting chips - chips remaining should give you an idea how much is taken from the final pot. Then maybe work out is it worth going for one of the top places or cashing out when you have the chips. Probably similar to deal making on final tables of tournaments, if you havent dealt before may be difficult to work out if its good or bad for u ![]() Got a feeling these games are going to be very confusing and causes of major headaches ![]() |

oh and i also forgot to figure in by cashin out and eliminating myself ya get whatever place you finish money too so i got 47th place money too.
i really think th key to these is all about making the final 9 cause then you get in on th leftover pool if you are shortstacked and know you cant get to final 9 then cashout is th way to go if you want profit. just my initial thoughts first time playin one. good luck all i'll be playin one of these again for sure. |

OOPs didnt realsie how many people entered these just checked out the tourney id posted earlier and over 1000 entered, looks like a case of pick and mix, decide how much you want to cash with your chips, if you are happy withthe payout take it or gamble and go for the higher prizes ![]() Last edited by katymaty : 15th October 2009 at 11:08 PM. |

The prize pool does not change. 1/2 of the prize pool is designated towards chips, so every chip has a direct cash value. When people cash out their chips disappear from the game, and the equivalent amount of $ is taken from that half of the prize pool. So if you win the tournament you will have a lot of chips, not only do you win the $ for chips but you win first place payout as well! Of course, if you bust out in 2nd place you only get 2nd place money. Granted, the first place payout is going to be substantially smaller than it would be in a normal tournament. This may or may not be a good thing. If you are in first place with 200K and the next stack has 100K, you could even the playing field and get some of the cash out money. If just taking down the tourney is the best payout, just play to win. If you win first place will any of the cashout money go towards that also? So many questions when something like this comes about. X

looking at tournament ID 11257079
Just over 1000 players. If 1000 players enter then 3 million in chips - depends how many cashout could be alot less, didnt see final table so not sure how many cashed out Surely if you get heads up with equal chips you will have 1.5 million chips which equals $2500 as the difference between 1st and 2nd was only just over $400 sensible choice would be to cash and get 2nd for about $3200 or gamble to win over $6000 or win $700. Even at 9 left if chips were equal then good deal to cash out your chips would be worth around $550 whereas if you gamble and lose payout is only $80. Although you can wait and se if others cash to slowly creep up the pay ladder. Think it depends how big the blinds and how much you would be losing. Seems like a mix between a cash game and tournament mindset. Prob ignore all the above been drinking too much coffee LOL just realised majority of chips will have been cashed out so figures above are $%^£$"$"$!*** Is it possible to cash out several times or if you cashout thats it, would be interesting if ou could cash out several times during the game and make a fortune ![]() Last edited by katymaty : 15th October 2009 at 11:50 PM. |
