FT or PS?

This is mainly for those that play at both, or have played at both.

Which do you prefer and why?

Trying to decide where to make my next (biggest so far) deposit.

yes, go there because bob won

DON'T register at Full Tilt Poker before getting a rakeback plan or you'll be as sorry as I am. Google 'full tilt rakeback' and see what you find.

fwiw I've played mostly at stars, but did dabble in FTP for a little while. Much prefer Stars, not sure why.

Depends on what you want to play.... $10 pot limit HE ring? Big buy-in multi-table tournaments?

For starters, probably some $5 sng's..then depending on how I do, some bigger BI tourns

Maybe some ring games..but mainly tourns

There's also more people voting, than that are posting why..please post why I should choose PS over FT (as that's the way the votes seem to be going)

Altho I Have accounts on both sites, and like both sites, PokerStars is my favorite site for several reasons:

More selection of poker games to play. I like to play the penny games, Freerolls and Playmoney. Not to take much risks. So, Poker Stars forfills all my poker playing needs.

Poker Stars Menu is easier to read.

Poker Stars Support Team react quickly to calls for help.

Poker Stars has more Freerolls and Free games.

Like Poker Star's Table lay out best.

Like Poker Stars format better.

Probable other reasons I cant think of now.

IMAO

IMO, pokerstars is the place you want to make a deposit.
Tourneys and SnGs:
  1. great blind structure
  2. Wide range of buy-ins
  3. availability
Rings:
  1. Bring your pole and net

re: FT or PS?

PS for me, reason being software never hangs like FT sometimes does.
Also in their tourney lobby they dont name the games by the proper name, they just call them either holdem, omaha, stud and so on, you have to click on a game, and you see what it is called in another window. Makes it hard to find that tourney you are looking for in a hurry.

Although I used to really really like FT, I'll vote for pokerstars cause at FT when you want to find a table the games keep jumping all over the place and you often end up at a totally different table than what you thought you clicked on. Drives me nuts.

Ah man, full tilt is getting its ass handed to it by ps at the moment.

Also id say the ful ltilt menu is WAY easier to read. I havent got a clue what happening when trying to read the tourny menu on stars, too many colours and special things and events which you have o idea if you are eligible or not.

FullTilt is ONLY for bigger limits (insane rake at lower limits)
PokerStars for both small and big limits

Like pokerstars better.

Better interface IMO, better customer support, and although you can't get rakeback, if you play enough the FPPs can be used to get cash bonuses, which is basically rakeback. Full tilt isn't bad though, I just prefer pokerstars.

PS is kickin Ace in the polls..

Seems I have a minor problem tho, I've tried 2 diff credit cards to deposit with, and both were declined. I'm not sure if I want to sign up for one of the other methods..

I really don't wanna put more on Bull Tilt.

Edit: Now 3 cards, all declined..

eCheck, Western Union(small fee for each transaction) and some prepaid credit cards.
I use Western union and eCheck since I don't like credit cards(like spending money)

I personally like pokerstars better. It has better software, especially for multitabling, as the graphics on fulltilt are bad imo. Also, I think the ring games are softer. That's why i play there.

I don't play much sng's or tourneys, but (someone correct me if I'm wrong) I think fulltilt has a better bling structure than pokerstars.
So, If your a sng and tourney player who doesn't multitable and you sign up for rakeback, I would say your better off at fulltilt.

There are plenty of poker sites out there that allow you to deposit smaller amounts than these two do, which run micro limits with sensible rakes and which are perfectly adequate...

geez...what a bunch of donks that play at pokerstars i will just stick to playing pros on full tilt..lol jk....
ok reasons i like full tilt better 1 nice avatars and not pictures on stars....on pokerstars some hot chicks put up the pictures and boy they are distracting a lot of times i have to hide the pic or w/e you call it. lol

2 full tilt pros are much better than the ones at pokerstars ( my personal opion) i personally like the pros on full tilt much better they are a lot cooler.

3 i think the menu on full tilt is very easy to read

4 u can play with yr avatar while ur bored

5 the cash tables are so easy to win even a caveman can do it

6 because i said so. PERIOD.

PS

I play at both, but prefer PS. I think my main reason is I just feel more comfortable there, and thats important to me. There are so many people at Tilt, and all their games and rakes are so high. PS has micro games and tourneys to get you started going all the time. It is pretty easy to grow money from Tilts many freerolls they have everyday, compaired to Ps's almost none, but that takes alot of time. So, if you deposit on PS, and play freerolls at Tilt, you can have two bankrolls. It worked for me.
GL !!

PS If you don't like the pictures, or Avitars change your table options to blank them out.

And I agree totally with the graphics are bad on FT, I want a poker site not a cartoon playground for little kids.

As said before, Pokerstars is the best SNG/Tourney site, Full Tilt is a good cash game site. Thats all i can tell ya

As far as support, variety and availabilty of games FT is very good. Stars is just a little better in those aspects.

As for interface, pokerstars + Custom CardsChat PokerStars Table Theme! is unmatched by anything I've ever seen.

I play at both (and only at both for the most part), have had some luck at both (both good and horrible) but if I had to pick one I'd give the nod to Stars (although I do love FTs bounty sngs - ARGH!).

Stars is a bit easier to navigate and AA vs KK tends to show way too often on FT.
