Friends, lucky hands & no stake poker.

I'd like to first say that I wish everyone took things seriously, especially in a Poker game. When I mean seriously, I don't mean playing with a straight face - but taking the game seriously. I won the poker game, and pretty much crushed everyone near the end - but in typical male "machoness" they claimed that since we weren't playing for any money (there was a girl playing who didn't want to play with money so we decided not to), they didn't take the game seriously.

Not only that, but they were stealing chips from my stack... now, I'm an honest player. I would never take chips from someone else - but apparently they were taking chips when I was occupied... and despite that I won.

What won the game for me was just some great hands - at the beginning I wasn't doing too well, until I hit a flush at the right time and raked in the chips... a few hands later I hit the flush again and took down 3 other players.

I almost got a 3rd flush near the end of the game but almost doesn't count in poker

So with some great hands, good playing and despite a few friends who admit to stealing chips because "they aren't taking the game seriously" I took them all out.

I take all my games seriously. Anyway, it was good fun, and next time we'll put some money into the pot

It's pretty hard to take the game seriously when you're used to playing with the risk of losing money, then switch to a zero-risk game.

Regardless, guys always have to find an excuse when they lose in anything vs. you ladies lol.

Yeah you should play in money and beat them badly

If you want normal game, you should better go to a poker club, or a casino, because I guess not all of your friends are playing poker on a regular base, and of course they won't take it so seriosly...
Once I was down in a little 'club' (of course I know the people around), and we were playing a ladies night (only girls cc 10$ buy in). And one of the girls asked for AA, but never before and never after. So she asked for AA, and I was the dealer I said OK, and dealed. She raised pre-flop then after we all folded she showed AA. LOL What's the % for that?
It was so weird and funny. It's fun to you play with people you know.
