Freeroll or Real Money

Would you rather play a freeroll tournament or a real money tournament ? i like playing real money because players are usually better and play tighter and it helps me become better.

I'm gonna ignore the fact that this is a post to get to 15...

This is a stupid question...

REAL MONEY!!! If you 'cash' you get actually cash, not the pennies you get for finishing in 314/5000 place at some sites.

Well at least after the get their 15 they no longer clog up the forum with useless posts. If our moderators had time to really screen the quality of most posts, some of these folks would never make it to 2 much less 15...

Hehe. Well, it's simple. For example a program like Absolute Poker, every 15 minutes a freeroll. Playing there sucks. 25% of the players just do all in with the hope the get to the 10,000 chips so they can play relax. If they loose, no problemo, another freeroll in like 20 minutes :S

When you play real money tourneys you know at least that there are allmost all serious players, they want to win big cash (BIG CASSHHHHH :P).

But restricted freerolls of forums are just the best. Playing with the same group of peepz rocks Talking about it after the tourney is fun and you make some friends hehe.

IrishDave, your so right! Once I was a newbie and tried to get started off on the right foot; with telling a little bit about myself,etc.. Not many do that,I think it gives pelple around you input on who you are and confidence in your game play. If you truly want to learn and grow or if you just want to drop 15 post for the freeroll and go on. Theirs a lot to learn on poker and other games,if a person wants to advance. OK,sorry about the book, but wanted people to know how I feel and where I'm coming from. Thanks

Hehe, it's okay. You are right, I'm new here myself. Playing poker for 2 years tho but still I notice that I can learn a lot from others. That's why I registered here, to learn more about this fantastic game and to have fun in freerolls and also learn there!

After playing alot of both of those kinds of tournaments Real money I would say is better due to the fact that the players dont play as careless and they are generaly better. Freerolls arent bad for someone short on cash but you usually get inexperienced players who are very careless..Just my opinion

Hi,
I need to get to 15 myself! haha...I'm PRO FREEROLL! First it depends what freeroll you're playing and how much is the money you win. I won $120 on absolute for a freeroll that I just played last month. Then I won another $80 on CD poker (2 of them actually 50 + 30). So I wouldn't say that was wasting my time gumkey!
You talk about money tourneys, play a re-buy one, that seems to be the trend. Its freakin ridiculous for the first hour. I have seen 5 people go all in on the first hand on a table. Who does that. That's just ridiculous.

So every game has it's + and -. I'm pro freeroll...By the by, I bet I'll see you on Noble at the next freeroll!!

Which asks the question, why do we need 15 posts anyway. You guys are right just having a requirement for posts causes a lot of stupid posts to be made and wastes a lot of space. I'm a member of forums where you dont have to post and I'll tell you the quality of the posts are way better, not to mention when I dont check back for a few days there isnt 50 stupid posts to read. Just an opinion.
