Free Money For All at Pokerstars Well that title got your attention. There is Free Money at Pokerstars but what is the value of an FPP? Of course there are catches. Here is the splash from Pokerstars 50 Billion Promo Page: The best online poker VIP Club is also getting a piece of the 50 Billion action. For the duration of the promotion, you can get an instant $50 cash credit for only 3,000 FPPs - no matter what VIP level you are! It’s a great way to give your bankroll a boost, and then use it to play in other 50 Billion events. Please Note: Only one cash credit available per player. I do have a question? Does anyone know what an FPP is worth? Is this actually a good deal? I know on Fulltilt 200FTP buys you in to a $1 tournament. So $50 would equate to about 10,000FTPs. So for 3,000FTPs you would snap it up without a thought. Is there a similar analysis that can be done at pokerstars to gauge the value of this offer?

~$16/1k in tournament tickets and the better bonus deals, but you often get much less value for things in the store. $50 cash for 3k is good because you don't have to play through a ticket or clear the bonus. I'm pretty sure the turbo takedown for 3k is much better value (haven't worked it out) especially if you can play it every month to try to get a streak of cashes going. Obviously a gamble if you don't have many fpps or bankroll, and $50 is straight cash. edit: yea, just looked it up. Less than 14k played last month, so thats over $70 value before the bonuses. Over 35% of the field gets paid. Last edited by D'wilius : 21st September 2010 at 8:05 PM.

Thanks for the answer, looked up the turbo takedown, but can't gamble it like that. Limited fpps so have to find the best way to use them, As you say the 50 is straight without any bonus to clear, and is still better than the bonus offers, tournament ticket conversions or clothing and other products. So looks like it is a good deal. There are some smaller fpp tournaments with cash payouts but the bankroll boost offers more options. So thanks for helping me decide.

re: Free Money For All at Pokerstars 84 FPPs = 1.1$ as far as i know. if i had 3000 FPPs i can get more than 50$ playing qualifiers to bigger MTTs, so it kinda looks like a rip off to me because if you do this 5000/84 = 59.52$ so screw them, i got better things to do with my FPPs. the best way, at least for me, if to play hyper turbos sngs qualifiers to 3.3$ rebuy. the buy in is 84 FPPs, first and second get in the 3.3$ rebuy, 3rd get his points back, 6 players only at the table so i am looking at this as i would look a a double up or nothing. blinds start at 25-50, they go up very fast, everyone has 750 chips. there is going to be a lot of gambling but if you double once up 1 time you are most likely to get at least your FPPs back.

| Because third gets their points back its $6.60/5 not $6.60/6. There are also rebuys to those $3.30 tickets where one ticket is given for every 210 fpp, same rate. 84fpp = $1.32 (70 fpp = $1.10) which is almost $16/1k, other sats are similar. I actually was thinking of the sats when I said tournament tickets, the tickets aren't quite so good (low ones anyway). yes, you can easily turn 3k fpps into more than $50 by playing the sats, but it takes time to play them and you could just as easily take the $50 and turn it into more by buying into tournaments. Only reason to play those sats instead of taking equivalent+ value in cash is if you think they are softer and more worthwhile return on investment/time than the buyins (or cash games) you could play with the cash. | Took the $50 promotion at the time and was very pleased with it. This month entered the $1m Turbo game. I say entered because that was basically all that happened. All the tables froze after the first hand. and was Not at all pleased with it. |
