First time

today i played for the first time 7 stud h/L in a 50 dollar freeroll on Absolute Poker, not knowing much about the game i played what i thought were my strongest, and weakest hands, and you know what, i finnished in forth place, yes forth place, could not belive it, which also puts me in sundays AP 1000 dollar challenge, as well as the 4 dollars, out of 1022 who played. so between now and sunday i will be reading my super system to get the low down on this game. I must go to bed now as i,m exhausted, this poker lark sure takes it out of you, god knows how good old Doyle does it at his age, my mentor, see you later and good luck

great job
first time i played in stud i had no idea what i was doing lol just chased and chased and chased
i remember playing Holdem on Absolute Poker when i first started
after a few tourneys i went on a streak of just final table or just missing it for like 10 games in a row
even now with the number of tourneys i play i can't be that consistent
man i gotta get my hands on Supersystem - where did you buy it?

The first ever real money tournament I entered was a one dollar stud tournament...I ended up winning on some incredible luck (I was last in chips with about 40 people left) and some general knowledge of the game.

Stud is a nice mix thrown in with Hold'em.

Nice job! The first Stud tournament (the first stud ANYTHING that I had played) that I was in, I got 2nd place out of just over 800 people. It seems that a lot less people really know how to play it well, so the freerolls are easier.

It's fortunate and sad at the same time that this is true about freerolls for any game other than NLH.

Very true

Since playing the other day, i wanted to find out more about the game, and the more i played and read about it, it came home to me there was more to this than meets the eye, and i was,nt as good as i thought i was. and i,ve read that the people that can play it well make a good living from it, cause the people that cant really play it treat it like bingo, and keep sticking them chips in, like me first time i played, i just had luck on my side,he.
since then, i just love the game, i,m hooked and just love it when i scoop the pot, nice buzz, but then theres the mental torture of trying to work out the other hands. Also i find the swings so vast, one minute i,ve got 1000 dollars, then i,m down to a 100, on the way out, then i scoop and i,m back in it. I have a lot to learn about the game, but what fun, all the best and good luck.

I'd play if I had real money, I just learned about a summer ago how to play.
