Only thing I see is him being a donk. Actually to be picky I would have bet more preflop. Minimum raises preflop are dangerours. On the flop if some is drawing here make them pay. $2.25 or maybe $2.50 would have been better. But, I am just being picky.

His big problem? He didn't protect his hand. There was a possible draw out there and if you were semibluiffing he is basically letting you see the next card for only the bet you just made. Bad one on him. He likely should have come over the top of you to make your potential draw to expensive to chase and get information from you in the process. Plus maybe indicating that he hit the flop harder than you if you had picked up 2 pair.

I didn't really see a bad play... on the other players part, yeah. I most definitely would have come over the top with 3 dueces... just to let you know where I stand.

But on your raise.. I think it was ok. You raised 3X BB in early position, shorthanded against 4 players. Anymore than that and you just pick up the blinds, I think.

Yup, agree with all of the above. You played it fine, I think your raise was just fine pre-flop, and the lesson here is definitely to protect your hand (not you specifically, villain specifically and everyone in general).

Yeah, the raise was fine. Any more than that with AJs UTG is not smart.

Bravo. Good thing the guy's weak ace was soooted or he surely wouldn't have played it. And I agree he should have come over the top on that flop.

Yeah, if he'd raised you on the flop, then you'd have figured him for trips, but you played the better starting cards, made a raise with a scary but not terrible flop for you, and then given passive calling you were going to think you were ahead. He lost because he didn't do anything to say he liked his cards, and certainly did nothing that was going to make you fold, so then why could he get upset that the was sucked out on? Basically, he slow-played his hand, and paid the price of that risk... end of... congrats on the hand, though - it's always nice to be on the right end of a river suck-out...
