Final table at Full Tilt, if anyone is interested
Full Tilt 625-player $24+2 MTT
Game #: 9301291 Player: Tiltopotamus I'm currently 8th out of 9 with about 6% of the chips. Haven't been chipleader much in this tourney, but haven't had to show down many hands, either. Pretty fun tourney so far! Good action, lively table chatter until the bubble. Biggest final table I've ever been to! ![]() |

Fell to last in chips pretty quickly, all-in blind-steal attempt from the button with T3o goes horribly awry as I get called by the BB with A5... 3 on the flop... 5 on the turn... T on the river! Whoo!
5th place out of 9 |

Still a full table, 3 interesting hands in succession:
SB/BB/antes are 4k/8k/1k, and my M is basically 5. 1) AQs under the gun, I decided to just push (maybe I could have gotten away with a small raise). Short stack calls me with KK, I hit a Q but not an A or enough suits, so I am reduced but not quite crippled. 2) Next hand: I'm BB, dealt A6o. SB completes, I raise all-in (maybe 6x the BB). After some words, he folds. 3) Very next hand: In the SB, I am dealt KK. Someone pushes ahead of me, I call, he's got AJ, he hits an ace in the river but I hit a K on the flop so it's all good. Gut-wrenching hand. 100k chips, I'm in the BB for 10k, middle position with the short stack raises to 40k (25k left), called by late position so I fold. Flop comes A-rag-rag, short stack bets all-in (25k into a 100k pot), late position folds and says he had KJ.
Wonder what middle position had?? |

2 more hands:
1 - In the BB again, very short stack in late position pushes and gives me 2:1 odds to call, which I do with A6, with my 6/5 boat beating his 2-pair. 2 - Dealt ATo on the button with 7 players left. Folded to me, I raise to 4x the BB, I'm called by the BB. Flop comes T-6-2 with the 6-2 suited. BB bets half his stack into me, and my only note on him comes in helpful -- "c-bets" -- I re-raise all-in and he folds. Phew! 2/7 |

I am super psyched right now! Thanks Combu and the others who visited the final table and offered encouragement!
What a great cap to a year spent learning the game of poker, or at least improving my game and taking it online, struggling at times with discipline or patience or even the urge to gamble, and finally being able (with lots of luck) to complete one of my goals to win a nice MTT! My wife watched parts of the game, and most of it at the end, and I'm glad cause it was among the most observant and analytical poker I've played (with lots of luck). Thanks for some great poker discussions over the year, guys. Wow, what a great thought that was: "hmmm... this poker forum looks pretty civilized, maybe I should check it out". ![]() |

Nice one, congrats and very well done. Ive been playing these $24 tourneys on FT for a while now, and i have to say that they are one of the best out there. So far ive won 1, and gotten to 2 final tables out of about 20 attempts so they are not that tough, and a nice prize to go with it

The best part is that I was able to do it with nice, solid poker. I won most of my chips without a showdown, just picking up small pots here and there. And the showdowns I did have were when I waited for very premium hands and played them hard. I didn't need too many 50/50 coin flips, mostly they were like that last hand, ~70/30ish. Even better for the ROI -- I actually won my entry to this tourney in an $8 satellite! The FT $8 satellites for $26 tournament tokens are an extremely good way to go, in my opinion. |

Ive only done the $26 > $75 token games twice, won 1 ticket, but the standard of play was still horrific, one big hand and your mint.
Ive gone off the $8 sats for some reason, the beats in them are terrible, i think i had a bad night at them once or something silly, ill have to start at them again. |
