face to face vs online ....what do you prefer? Playing few times lately live after being online a lot and the big difference is that I have to behave at the casino other wise I can get a warning...so throwing things, walking around in underwear, and calling someone a idiotic calling fish that suxs out on me all the time, is not tolerated as it is online at home. However the pro side of live is that I dont time out , I can use live tells instead of investing in some HUD , and I get free drinks .

I would say I enjoy live better. I dont mind playing online but there is just something about looking at your opponent, watching how he reacts in different situations and the social aspect of it. I try to chat a bit online but most people are either too busy due to multiple tables, or just have chat turned off. Plus there is that satisfaction of leaving the table with your winnings and getting cash right then and there as opposed to most sites now where you have to wait weeks for a payout.

I was playing live at Hawaiian Gardens Casino and some dude pulled a royal suck out on me. I blurted out something I should not of and I was told I had to leave if I kept it up. It's not even like I looked at him and said you are a ----------!!!. I just blurted out ---------------!!! Besides that I don't like playing live. A big part of it is something you said. What Casino is going to let you in in your Pajamas?

I've seen a guy call another guy out so loud that the blackjack players came in to see what;s up. He had the guy by the collar and was shaking him. C'mon you mother$#^%^$# %$#$, I'll kick your ass and then %$%$# $#$ %$#$%^&^% then splashed his and the other guys stack together. All the floor did was restack them ask him to calm down. That place is a circus. Well of course it is, the whole joint is three huge balloons. Seriously, THREE HUGE CIRCUS TENTS. First fire in there is gonna take out 3/4 of the local Asian community. It's like a Dangerfield joke, I tell ya. C'ept they don't even ask for respect. You know how when you muck your cards, they glide neatly to the dealer, and you look so cool. Shove em ten times harder at the Gardens and they go two inches and stop dead. The tables are so dirty you can smell them. You did a little more than shout an expletive. C'mon... come clean. It'll do you good. Ohhhhh Lord I love The Gardens, cuz they love a drunk. I would cry if they ever closed down. Just a down and dirty joint with a ton of tables, good food and endless drunk fish. Where you goin huh? I'm going to the bank. Last edited by JusSumguy : 30th January 2012 at 3:13 AM. |

Playing on line is convenient, there's always a game. Live you have to travel, sign in, wear clothes etc. but there is something about seeing your opponents as you play that makes it even more fun. There was a poker site that utilized the camera in your computer as your avatar. So you could play online and still see your opponents. Problem was some of those players shouldn't have been using cameras Damn!!!

re: Poker & face to face vs online ....what do you prefer? Nothing beats live poker from a entertainment perspective, but online is obviously more convenient. With a wife and 3 kids I just don't get to go to AC as often as I used to so online is the only way I can satisfy my poker urges.

Live is obviously a lot more social of an environment. Online you can stretch yourself much more by multi-tabling. Both environments have their pros & cons. If I worked outside the home, I'd be playing online but since there is a very active local poker club with a lot of poor players that make for good entertainment I'm playing live all the time now.

re: Poker & face to face vs online ....what do you prefer? Live is the best for me becuase i play smarter. When i play online i tend to make some moves and mistakes i should not. When i play live i tend to play a tighter more aggresive game rather than a loose aggresive game online. I think another benifit in playing live is that you have all your attention focused on one game and one hand. LIVE IS THE BEST!!
