As most of you know, the red names on Full Tilt are full tilt sponsored pros that anyone can play against. In some cases there are even semi-bounties on them, knock them out of a tourney for example and you get your entrance fee back.

I was always a bit curious about this arrangement, since the upper tier full tilt pros are also part owners of the company that owns full tilt. It seems to be a bit of a conflict of interest. I know the company is supposedly regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission...but if you create a computer program for gambling..and then play on it yourself..its not really beyond the realm of possibility that you have backdoor software installed to help your play. After all white collar crime is usually the hardest to detect and is the most lucrative. I've never really heard much from full tilt to address this anymore..has anyone else?

Anyways..the point of this post was I found an article about one particular red name. Johnathan Little

I found it interesting that the red names are paid 35 bucks an hour (works out to $68k a year on a 37.5 hour week) and receive 100% rakeback in exchange for playing. Thats a pretty sweet deal when you consider that they pocket any winnings in addition to the salary. Too bad this guy got greedy and screwed it up.

if you are concerned about site creators/employees having access to more information just do a google search for absolute/ultimate bet scandal

I'm pretty sure this came out a while ago...I remember looking him up before this even happened and seeing the ridiculous amount of SNGs he was playing at a time.

i just have this feeling something is not quite right with online poker sites. at worst, its a fix. at best, their RNG code is not up to date. whatever the case, in the end it will at some point all come out. meanwhile, im just having fun with penny tys and nothing more serious. :)

Informative post.

You can build backdoor software to crack anything if you know the right information, and obviously there would be some loophole.

I like online poker, but as most I'm still skeptical. I've made a couple of minor deposits, and would love to get into a poker site special live tourney.

$35 an hour is great considerably since you could buy a wireless card, and have that business running continually. Did Chris Ferguson get paid like this when hes doing the freeroll stack for the march of dimes?

This would help me accept all the time I'm sure he had to spend to be able to get the stack up like that.

Silly human, getting greedy.

Thanks for the information.

and one other thing: FTP is really trying hard to portray itself as this site where all these 'redname' superpros are playing. when in fact 99% of them are some schmos who may have cashed on an odd live event somewhere...

FTP would do better to invest the money its wasting on noname 'pros' on maintaining, eg, the server banks better..so there are no timeouts/delays for ppl who dont have a T1 internet access.

100% rakeback is a much sweeter deal than the $35/hour for people playing somewhat high stakes. Someone like zach who 18 tables 100NL or 200NL would be getting more than $100/hour with 100% rakeback.

Wouldn't be a bad job at all for us average people. Always good to be to sponsors by some company, cause you obv going to live a better than normal life, and at the same time, don't got much thing to worry about, except make more money on top of your salary from poker.

It's the friend's fault as well, isn't it. He probably got a kick out of pretending to be this pokerdude and got carried away.

Poker accounts are password protected. Friend couln't get access to the account without the pro agreeing to it.

Its impossible to honestly say that any poker site isnt able to be corrupted by backdoor software. There isn't always safety in numbers either, as the UB/AP scheme illustrated.

Anybody with enough common sence and some programming skills could easily make a backdoor software. With enough common sence they could eventually take world domination. :)
