| Ever Notice at FTP no Country Hi, Ever notice that at Full Tilt Poker that some players have no country that they are from. When I signed up there, it was a requirement that you put your full address in and that meant that you had to have a country that you are from. But, seems like every day there are more and more of these players that show up that have no country. I would like to know why, but FTP won't tell me. Are they fantom players at FTP? How did they get user id's without being from a country? Are they really players or staff of FTP? Some simple but good questions for the FTP Crew. |

| I have seen this. Some players will just have some type of catchy phrase or something silly. I think that when you sign up you can enter anything there and FT doesn't really monitor it? Have seen the same thing at Cake and a few other sites. I like the sites that have the Town listed better than just Country |

| re: Ever Notice at FTP no Country poker To reiterate, you need to have info filled in to deposit/transfer/withdraw. If you are playing with playmoney or building from freerolls it is not necessary, or atleast wasn't when I made a screename several months ago. It may be listed as a required field as you say but FullTilt lets people download and trial without filling that out. I probably had $100 and was playing real money games before I ever filled it in...and that was just to make a transfer. Last edited by D'wilius : 18th February 2009 at 5:50 AM. |

A lot of times those players will have a ( ) or something, so the software sees that they have entered something in those required spots. I doubt they are some kind of "phantoms" though. Do you see lots of black helicopters in your neighborhood?? |

You can register for freerolls without a country field entered. In fact, it only takes email validation to play these freerolls. Only time it is required if you are going to make any cashier transaction. Then the full address is required to validate account. |

| I recently had to change my address...as I had moved. Now I can't get into the US freeroll that they have nightly at 9pm. They told me that they were working on it, but that if ftm I wanted to be registered that I simply had to send them an email. I did this yesterday and got in. As to people not having a country...I was required to fill out my address when I first signed up. Maybe these players had to as well, but they are not from any big countries? |

| I notice that in the little(r) country freerolls, a lot of those players have no country listed either. Do they figure it out by IP address? If not, there'd be no reason to list your country. I list mine, and it doesn't let me register for a different country's tourney (was just curious to try). |

| I didn't mind putting my country in-- but after awhile playing there, like Divebitch, I wondered if this prevented me from getting into other country freerolls. I haven't tried monitoring these games too see if people are in the games with no country listed. It is not an end of the world problem but it is a question that needs an answer, in my opinion in fairness' sake. |

| FT has a free client also at fulltiltpoker.net the .com version is for money accounts. When you register at the .net one it is not required to register completly. But if you want a money account you have to have the .com version and fill out the registration completly. |

| I know I put the US for my .com account registration, but it does not list my country when I sit down at the tables. Though I have not deposited, I do have cash in the account. I'm sure when it comes to the point of withdrawl, I will have to put my full address in, and then the state/country will be posted. |

| It really depends on when you signed up for FTP. Full Tilt blew up really big and really quick. The older members were not required to select a country, or even an address, unless they were going to be placing a deposit. They (FTP) may have been forced to make it a regular registration requirement to give themselves a release of liability. They may have done this in order to have a chance in potentially gaining a Internet Skill Game License for the US should a recent bill actually pass. Quote from Wiki: "The regulation called for in the UIGEA were issued in November 2008.[17][18][19] The regulation does not define "unlawful Internet gambling." On April 26, 2007, Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) introduced HR 2046, the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act, which would modify UIGEA by providing a provision for licensing of Internet gambling facilities by the Director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. On June 7, 2007, Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL) introduced HR 2610, the Skill Game Protection Act, which would legalize Internet poker, bridge, chess, and other games of skill. Also on June 7, Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) introduced H.R. 2607, the Internet Gambling Regulation and Tax Enforcement Act. IGRTEA would legislate Internet gambling tax collection requirements. On June 8, 2007, the House Financial Services Committee, chaired by Barney Frank, held a hearing entitled, "Can Internet Gambling Be Effectively Regulated to Protect Consumers and the Payments System?".[20] Expert witnesses at the hearing testified that Internet gambling can be effectively regulated for age verification, money laundering issues, facilitation of state and federal tax collection, and for issues relating to compulsive gambling. On September 26, 2008, Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) introduced S.3616, the Internet Skill Game Licensing and Control Act. This bill would amend title 31, United States Code, to provide for the licensing of Internet skill game facilities, and for other purposes. This is the first bill related to online skill games that has been introduced in the Senate.[21]" |

I just believe that there is something about this. Because if you play real money poker you have to do it and still some people don't have to do it. |
